i like your ideas, but as you may or may not have read, he has build this to play with when return to ravnica is released. so, ponder, archivist, vapour snag, swords and mana leak will not be available. but unsummon will.

i like this deck! I've always liked mono blue. the only things i can think to add would be clones and rewind. tormods crypt is broken beyond belief, that ones going into my discard deck. but, yeah, i really think that clone would do well here (he does well in all blue decks :P) and rewind can be kinda fun (oh! im gonna counter your creature! and then im gonna use the same mana to mill you out! YEAH!). tell me what you think.

i kinda like victim of the night better than doom blade. it can kill black stuff, just not vampires, which is a pain still. or, what about murder?

i hope that you didnt build this recently, because when return to ravnica is out, its gonna be heavily and i mean HEAVILY cripples (hopefully) either way, it looks pretty good. if only it wasnt 75 percent scars and m12

why des everybody love krenko so much? he's not THAT good! if i wanted a goblin as a general, id use wort, boggart auntie. then i could play black as well. anyway, you are missing goblin chieftain. and you need coat of arms and adaptive automaton. and maye even caged sun. also, you need warren instigator. THEN you will have a good goblin edh deck.

see, the reason i say that it is more consistent, is, thet by turn 3, if yoju get your desired hand, you will be able to win, hands down, but for your deck, you need to go till at least turn 4, so yeah, i just thought id share my opinion, love this kind of deck though and ill certainly be looking through your other decks. id appreciate it if u did the same for me :)

i love pestilence, but i have started to notice that it works better in a deck not centered around cards like it.
i run it in a deck with
4 doom blade
1 xathrid demon
1 grinning demon
2 demonic consultation
2 necropetence
and some token makers for xathrids abilitys
it works well as a board sweep in this kind of deck

i like these kind of decks a lot, but if you want it to be more consistent, try adding some of the stuff in my version.

kill spells are fun just to see the look on your opponents face when you kill their grave titan, and then reanimate it with a stitch together :P. also i have a mono black deck made specially to be as mean as possible, so i play like, 8 kill spells altogether (like, 4 doom blades, 2 pestilence, and 2 disfigures, i think, but i plan to replace the disfigures with vendettas or fatal blows). so yes kill spells are amazing, just look at pestilence, it is probably the best one in the game, in my opinion. combine with exquisite blood and sanguine bond and you win the game. >:D

your right, dread return it restricted (to i think, 1) my mistake
i like killing wave
you forgot demonic consultation
it could be very good in zombies, especially if you have a grave titan in grave and 3 crappy zombies in play.

ha

alright, hmmm.... good zombies... lets see...
grave titan (like, $6 or something)
gravedigger
sutured goul
skullbriar, the walking grave
goulraiser
unbreathing horde
cemetery reaper
undead warchief (i got them for $4 each)
death baron
lord of the undead

... those are just a few. as for essential black cards
dark ritual
doom blade
killing wave
dread return (keep in mind, this is not legal in tournaments)

... yeah. these are just off the top of my head. and most of them are pretty cheap, so you (or your friend) shouldnt have much trouble getting them, as long as you shop at a good retailer.

now, what i want to know, is, where are all the comments? theres ONE! ONE COMMENT! on a deck that made front page, and its number 1! whats wrong with that!? Anyway, i like this deck, but if your going for a basic black deck, with no theme, it needs a LOT of work. i recommend more doom blades, some big demons for game finishers (grinning demon is great) and some cards to hold your opponent down until you get your demons out.

does it play well against graveyard-based decks and decks that focus on getting out big creatures really fast?
