Questions and Answers:
So what was really added for Orzhov in DGM?
Orzhov Guilds Ability is of course Extort. The problem with extort for this block so far has been getting enough triggers on the table to make it truly viable. Crypt Ghast ramping you into a Pontiff of Blight, makes Teysa, Beckon Apparition and Lingering Souls provided 1/1 Spirit Tokens incredible. 1/1 fliers with extort.

The fact that there are now cards like Debt to the Deathless (Double-Action Drain Life for 4 and x *Drain life was for X 1&B* ) , Tithe Drinker, that makes sending Syndic of tithes back to the binder easy, Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts, and the absolute VIP of Orzhov in standard .... Pontiff of Blight. HOW Blood Baron got Mythic over this guy is beyond me. GG WoTC GG.

Play Testing of Version 8 Revealed:
Version 8:
Played splendidly. Mana was right all night, Draw was right, I stayed above 22HP every match I won.

How to Play

13 initial extort creatures.
Pontiff + Lingering Souls + Beckon Apparition can create 16 additional.
Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts can create additional but do not count on it.

Killing Wave as much and for as much as possible while not playing the curve and extorting it and for that matter every other spell for as much as possible ALWAYS.

RULE#1 DO NOT PLAY THE CURVE.
Example of RULE#1:
If you have 4 mana and 1 extort trigger on the field then you only have 3 available mana to use. So get over it cast what you can and extort it. ALWAYS

I have tragic slipped my own screecher for -1/-1 to get four extort out of it on my end step. Then on opponents upkeep did it again for two more extort.
BLEED THEM DRY AT EVERY CHANCE.

RULE#2: Ramp into Pontiff and Teysa using Crypt Ghast, drop spirit tokens as much as possible, extort the spells always, Utilize your new spirits to extort the lingering souls or beckon apparition spirits coming in and always follow RULE#1.

RULE#3: Two Pontiffs means each creature has TWO extort triggers. E.G. Each Creatures full potential costs at minimum 2 mana. A screecher with 1 pontiff on the field has two extort triggers; with two Pontiffs? 3 triggers.

RULE#4: If unsure... Read Rule #1

Deck discussion for Merciless Orzhov v.9 (DGM)

Due to the amount of tokens you can create with this deck, I'd recommend sideboarding Beckon Apparition and adding a playset of Altar's Leap. For Extort, you need spells to play, and draw 2 for 2 + saccing a creature is pretty good, plus you can Extort the Altar's Leap.

In that same mindset, I'd also recommend the Duel Deck Sorin. Produce a token each turn? Yes please.

My suggestions:
-1 Teysa, -1 Pontiff, -1 Crypt Ghast, +3 Renounce the Guilds. So many expensive creatures, with Crypt Ghast being the only way to consistently reach them seems risky. RtG is powerful removal.
-4 Beckon Apparition, +1 Sorin, Lord of Innistrad, +3 Doomed Traveler. Sorin produces a token each turn and makes everything stronger, the Traveler could work if you include Altar's Reap or just as a cheap spell for Extort + extra creature after Killing wave.

Army of the Damned could be game ending with Pontiff + Crypt Ghast... or on its own.

Cruncher, You know how this goes. I will tweak the hell out of this for weeks.

I made some changes. I did neg 1 Teysa & Pontiff.

Smite and Tragic Slip are gone in exchange for Ready // ( Willing ). Bump, Lingering, Sign are all +1 to 4 each.
added two Sorin.

Am I crazy for wanting to find a way to slip a couple Gift of Orzhova into this?
I have dropped some snipes @ $3.00 on several Sorin auctions.
LCS doesn't have any in stock. There is one shop a bit farther, but I don't feel like being raped like a school girl.

I <3 The idea of Sinister Possession. Tithing for Damage. that just seems to me something I may one day main board. Its one of those "I'm going to Troll you" cards that make your opponent think before attacking or blocking.
1/1 Spirit with Death Touch and Life Link swings and is blocked by a 2/1 with Sinister Possession. Lose a creature and take 2 and I gain 1. Value.

In this deck or any deck for that matter. You need to take each turn in a way to get the most value out of that turn. What constitutes value is a matter of the deck. Here the value is extorting off of cheap spells, Killing opponents creatures with great ease. Making your opponent suffer.

Any of this tickle?
Lyev Decree – Common
Riot Control – Common
Sin Collector – Uncommon
Debt to the Deathless – Uncommon
Maw of the Obzedat – Uncommon
Profit // Loss – Uncommon
Obzedat’s Aid – Rare
Blood Scrivener – Rare
Blood Baron of Vizkopa – Mythic

Edit:
P.S. - Better to buy two Sorin v. Tybalt? or Sorin? Whats the value in the Precon ?
