This is one of the EDH-decks I one day will be building. It's power-level (and budget) is supposed to be low-ish, hence not including many of the obvious staples, like Skullclamp etc. I mainly just want a good time, throwing out a bunch of insects, many of them with really cool art, have some fun interactions going on and just enjoy playing.Even though I tried to stay on theme, I still want it to be capable of winning every once in a while, hence I included some off-theme, goodstuff cards like Chromatic Lantern. I would love some suggestions of other fun cards I could include, or cards that are similar but more on theme than what's currently on the list!
Xira Arien is here mainly as an on theme general, but her card draw can actually be usefull, seen as card draw in Jund isn't that common, and as it lets "target player" draw a card, it can be used as a political tool. To go along with her ability, aswell as a couple of other creatures in the 99's abilities, I included Magewrite Stone and Thousand Year Elixir. Her ability is quite intense on colored mana, hence the inclusion of Chromatic Lantern and Prismatic Omen.There's a minor theme of sacrificing going on aswell, with Blood Artist as a support.Darkmoor Salvage and Army Ants make for a cute little synergy aswell.
