Deck Description

This deck has abused the power of the increasingly common vampire deck in order to overwhelm and drain the life out of the opponents creatures and the opponent himself.

Deck discussion for Vampires... again...

All suggestions are appreciated and considered. This deck has been played a few times now and it has done very well. This does not of course compare to some of the really good and common deck combos that are seen in tournament style play.

I'd remove rend flash and replace it with hideous end, same mana cost for same effect and causes controller to lose 2 life. I your worried about playing a black deck then sideboard unmakes, they are a great fall back plan

you seriously need bloodghasts as well, they are the best creature in the vampire arsenal (not counting nocturnus) as they can be brought back with a land and are the enemy of control decks

I couldn't agree more thanks for the idea of unmakes!! Yeah, I completely agree Bloodghast is sooooo good. The only problem is that he is relatively expensive :P I don't really have the budget right now to spend 10 dollars on one of him but if I ever get the chance to trade for him or get him for a lot lower price I am definitely aiming to get him. Thanks for the help!!!

I would get more blades of the blood chief and gatekeeper of malakir, those two are REALLY helpful when I play. Even with your other control, malakir can be really good.

Yeah I definitely could see the extra malakir.. but honestly I decided to take the blade out today when I played a few matches. I noticed that when I had it against most decks it wasn't what was winning the game for me and honestly I rather have another vampire coming out or a tendrils of corruption to secure the win. Thanks for the input though!!!

I would take out Lacerator and Hexmage there not usefull except in unlikely circumstances use blood seeker instead becuase it gives a quicker burn/drain. I would get rid of the "1 of cards" and put other copies of better cards. I'd alos put in at least 2 blood tributes just cuz they sometimes help late in the game especially if you have the mana for it. Get rid of durress and disfigure and add more drain/ distruction cards like soul reap syphon life, and hideous end. Get rid of tendrills too cuz i personally don't think its worth it. Maybe add some terrors or doomblades too. And finally get rid of quest of the gravelord and get bloodchief ascension. Its a must for a vamp deck. Good luck!

I disagree with Lacerator and Hexmage being taken out. A 1 mana 2/2 drop to help overwhelm the opponent is essential. Plus he is really good for helping me get my opponent to 10 or less which is the ultimate goal for a vampire deck. Hexmage is great because of first strike. It poses a great threat to keep enemy attacks at bay. Duress won't be leaving because it's a great first turn or later in the game move to see the opponents hand and to get rid of that annoying buff or any other card that would cause much destruction to my deck. I agree with the ascensions and maybe even with 1 blood tribute. The drains work so well to crowd control and gain myself more life. Gravelord has come through counteless times to put in that 5/5 and crush + add threat to the opponent. I do like hideous end but not particularly soul reap because it's a sorcery. I am definitely going to consider everything you have said though and continue to make improvements on this deck. Thanks for the advice.
