Deck Description

this deck was made for one reason to make a decently strong deck which depends on all five color. not as five separate, but five colors united in harmony. i wanted to make a deck that represented Alara, the only plane that had all colors,

lastly this deck is strongest in multiplayer when your opponents are not familiar with it. you sit back and build a low damage appearing army and then bring out a few knight os new alara and your small army isn't small anymore.

this deck is particularly strong against army building decks and one creature K.O. decks.

this deck is particularly weak against full counter/mill decks ( a good such deck can render you meaningless and unable to do anything) and full burn decks.
NOTE: against a partial burn and partial counter/mill you can still be strong as you can summon more creatures than he can burn or since cascade is on cast, summon more creatures than can be countered.

How to Play

the point of the deck is to keep casting spells, especially cascade spells. you keep casting spells and as you get higher and higher costing cards out you get two or three or even seven cards for the price of one.

if you are ever in a gam you can clear the board with terminus which does not hurt you since you'll get the cards back quickly enough.

if you find yourself short on draw speed you can return some of the cascade card with reality strobe or etherium horn sorcerer. then recasting the card to cascade another card in.

use wall of perseverance as a defender and sustain.

try to cast maelstrom wanderer with at least one maelstrom nexus on the field as cascade stacks separately

early on your better off building mana over summoning creatures. you can build mana faster than many decks but you can compete the the mana ramp decks. however you can bring out creatures just as fast as you build mana so the more mana the more cascade, the more cascade the more creatures.

your over all goal is to either chip away at your enemies health or take him down with an army. or if your lucky bring out progenitus with four knights of new Alara 30/30 protection form everything for a one hit K.O. in most game modes.


as for the side board if you think there will be a mana shortage you can take tempt with discovery. or sylvan. as for the res one is to bring higher lever creatures cheaply. the other is for draw speed. Urza's filter is if you need more cost reduction.
