Deck Description

This fun, mean aggro deck is designed to murder your opponent in 4 turns. Your goal is to pump out as many creatures as you can and just kick them in the teeth until they die. My boyfriend made it for me to get me into Magic, and he has tested it in a tournament and gotten 3rd with it. Whenever I'm salty at people for overpowering my fun white/black deck, I get my revenge with this really nice deck.

How to Play

This deck is really easy to use, and your opponent really should not be able to overcome this deck unless they are a substantially better aggro deck than you (speaking from a lot of casual play experience - I am still a beginner and may be wrong). You don't need the shrine or devotion to win, but it really is helpful. You want a hand full of the little rakdos guys to start, and it's good to have a burning-tree to start with to because you can throw out even more with the additional mana. Having 3-4 creatures out by turn 2 is good. Once you have a good 4 creatures, having the shrine is really nice to throw even MORE creatures out, and you'll be able to frustrate them with a monstrous ember swallower which will end up being a 7/8, and they'll have three less lands to save themselves with. You can have them all swing in right away if the hammer is in play because everyone will have haste, and once you have 2 mana and the shrine you can start using the hammer's ability and get some 3/3 golems out. When you have a lot of devotion, it's also nice to dump Fanatic of Mogis on them and have him deal damage equal to the amount of devotion you have to red, which will make anyone salty. If anyone stands in the way of your army, you have some mean instant options that can clear the way, or can be a game ender if you use lightning strike or volcanic geyser correctly.

Deck discussion for Murderous Mono Red Aggro

You use the term "salty" a lot. Lol. No offence meant from this post tho. Ok :)

Haha it's a habit now - one of my friends uses the term a lot and I suppose it has slipped into my vocabulary. But I'm happy that someone read what I wrote :D

I like looking at obscure little decks and becoming friends that make them. So lovechicken do you accept my offer to be fiends?

Cool, you see I'm sorta obsessive about things and magic really messes me up. Seriously, I need to have exactly 24 land in each deck, and then 36 nonland cards. The mana curve has to be a curve as in... 1 drops = 10. 2 drops =12. 3 drops = 8. 4 drops = 6. Stuff like that. And like i will make a hydra casual deck, then everybody will filppppp out. "It's not standard playable, I don't get it, you sick at deck building." Seriously ITS A THEME DECK, JUST SHUT UP. I'm making a standard deck for our friendship.

That's not a bad thing though - If it works it's a good format to go by I think. I never know how much mana and stuff to put in. I made one deck before and after playing it so many times I'm positive it's not working out. Do you buy any of the decks you build and play them?
But yeah that reminds me a bit of my boyfriend. He prefers standard decks, probably mostly because he works in a game store and knows about all the standard cards. The decks I try to make always seem to end up modern because there are so many fun modern cards.

I am glad I found this site. I could make some unreasonably expensive fun decks without actually having to buy them or anything.

I don't like standard at all. It's just so boring and un-fun. It's all about winning in standard. God I will never forget the first tournament I went to that was standard. I brought a CASUAL mill deck. I lost every game. So I brew for standard but I usually never buy decks seeing I am a poor hobo (just a figure of speech I'm actually not a poor hobo)

I am tempted to use this red aggro deck in a tournament. But I think I need more practice, because I make some bad decisions while playing and also have problems knowing the rules all the time. Boy, did I get pissed when someone countered my spell and I didn't know they could do that. I also have to grab every card that gets played by them to read what it does. I'd probably totally lose anyways.
Do you own any of the decks you have on here? You definitely have some interesting ones. I looked a few of them earlier today when looking for ideas.

I think I am in love, you think I have interesting decks no one says that ever none of my decks ever get looked at. And then you say I have interesting decks :) No I don't tho I wish I do, I also have like 40 decks I haven't put on the site cause it takes a while for me to upload them.

How do you come up with all these ideas? You must have to know so many cards just to start deck building.
