This is a cool deck. I love the originality in the format while using some under rated cards to make big plays; the result is an affordable deck that looks polished. However, after several test hands it appears the decks' weakness is board control . I'm thinking a switch for murders or dimnir charms could help against Boros and gruell zoo. Great job man! Cheers

I agree with DJ and would further add that the deck is missing the hallmark of a boros deck (or zoo deck in general) which is one drop creature beats. Your running wayyy to many big creatures and do not have the resources (from what i've seen from sample hands) to protect yourself from early game beats. This has further implications because your counting on the avenger to have battalion when it attacks. Alternatively, Spark trooper rarely survives the combat phase because of instant removal or more commonly a first strike creature (or madcap skills); so Your best case senario for the troopers involves you casting nothing on turn three so that you can furry at the end of the opponets turn (or getting lucky and finding nothing but x/2 creatures field). Alternatively, the angle will not have haste on turn four (which could be remedied with lightning maulers) therefore you have to wait till turn five before your even able to come up with a battalion attack that really stings. Long story short, your spells are too expensive. Perhaps if you main deck blind obedience (i'd get two more if possible) this deck might be able to do what you want it to do. Good luck!!

I appreciate decks that cost under $50 and still have a theme. That being said, I am curious as to how often your casting a cascade spell and running into a man o war or kor sky fisher just to have the creature bounce itself back. I'm betting your not bouncing the cascade creature because then your in effect paying a higher casting cost for a creature. I take it that your deck is suppose to get a few creatures into play before playing the Rampage. Long story short, I would revise the deck so that your cascade spells are less likely to keep your own creatures off the board. good luck

I agree with the assemble the legions comment and with the lightning maulers comment but would try and trade for Hellriders and Ash zealots (because they rock). Spark Troopers would be alot better in an environment where first/double striker were not as common, but I would add them. I tried to run a version where silverblade paladins and spark troopers would join forces but I'll be damned if the cards never allowed it. I like running the skynights because they have evasion and haste. Goodluck Func

The deck has a lot of virtues and I like Odric as an offensive weapon in a mirror match. However, I would run more creatures because Battalion. My recommedation would be to replace the trumpet blast and one of the fervers with a set of lighting maulers. Regardless, nice deck. Goodluck

I used to play an oath deck that ran "Questing Phelddagrif" so that I could activate the oath more often. It was especially good if the opponets deck was creatureless.

It wasn't my idea! Its a deck that originated from a classic tourney after I saw a guy use mortal combat to win. However, I did add the drain life to the deck because it was an obvious addition. Otherwise I altered the deck to go off on turn one instead of on turn four by adding the crystal viens, tombs, and lotus petals. Oddly enough the guy ran songs of the damn in effort to cast mortal kombat on turn one.

aww, its a dream deck huh? Well, its pretty cool variation of a broken deck I used to play a while back. However, if your going to dream... i'd run a Gaea's Cradle or two and perhaps sideboard the insist and instead use skull clamps to draw cards. Also, your weak to enchantments and artifacts(like engineer plagued, ensaring bridge, ext.) Your sideboard would most likely solve those problems.

Great deck for a tight budget. Did you get most of the parts from drafting? I didn't know about desecration demon... I'd run two if at all possible. I'd also get more shred freaks (they're pretty cheap). I hope i'm not insulting you by implying this deck was made on the cheap. Cheers.

How should this deck be more broken without going to the power nine?

I like the idea! However, I would drop the red and perhaps use some enchantment loving creatures because you're running 10 enchantments. I made a "dollar rare deck" that featured enchantresses and aura togs which would love to eat your rancors and then allow you to play them again but with a cantrip on top. Cheers and goodluck

Great name for a budget deck!! I love the old invasion cards and I think the deck looks pretty fun. However, I would splurge and use overrun:) I would also splurge and use the white flying sliver that returns recently destroyed slivers to the top of its owners library.

Great build! I'd loose the guildmages, one Blind, and one warleader, for 4 more one drops. Also 4 charms is alot... i mean they're great but three would probably do with one in the side. Are you not finishing the opponet with the Act? When I look at this deck it looks like boros deck thats been sideboarded against a typical RDW or Boros agro. Great call in this environment. Cheers, your a cunning deck builder.

Great build. Not crazy about preordain but whatever. I've never played the Vendilion Clique version... is this card really worth its money? I've been running the black version that uses dark confidants instead.

what format is this deck for? Is it just a theme? Where are the control artifact; control magic; dominating licid (an old favorite), or the (one and a blue drake) that exchanges creatures? I love Reins of power and I think its pretty cool you've put this deck together. However, you need to eliminate ten cards. For example; all your artifacts, the arm of eathers; and the deptor's knell's would be a good start. Great Value for the deck though!

Nice! I missed this block when I was in law school, so I'm just now discovering the cards. Wow, I like the vampire hexmage! I just ordered four! I love it when prices drop for old standard decks.

i bet he wants the consuming abberration to be the star of the show. However, in my opinion there is room for both.

after viewing several sample hands, I have concluded that I like the deck; though the first five turns would be inconsistant . That being said, I think your land ratio is spot on and could consistantly drop big threats on turn five. Boros Reckoner is a clutch card when in a mirror match but wouldn't be very helpful against evasion creature decks. A traditional Boros deck uses more direct burn to control creatures in the early game wheres your deck is strickly offensive. My advice: forget trying to get silverblade paladins and spark troopers together and focus more on making the deck faster. Cheers and goodluck

I'm loving the cheapness of the deck. The rares are totally doable on a budget. However, I'd splash more black (I LOVE INSTANT CRATURE KILL) and probably use Hellriders and Skullcrack instead of the Hellkits and Volleys.
