The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

A variant of a more common premise: The enduring Ideal deck. I primarily based it around the synergy of Paradox Haze and Enduring Ideal (since the Ideal is cast every up keep which the Haze give you multiple of and the Ideal can play the Haze's once its out giving your opponent a very small window once it hits to finish you).

Another combo is the life gain/ filtering of Peace of mind and Idle thoughts. PoM will keep your hand empty and Idle thoughts will provide the cards. If you don't need what you draw, just pitch it. A couple times i've been forced to discard combo pieces for life gain, but the overall gain you get both in terms of cards and life will generally keep you in the game long enough to drop a wrath or to place your Ideal. Peace of mind also works nicely with Endless horizons since it convert unneeded lands into life.

Porphyry node I included more because it benefits from Paradox haze the for anything else. Depending on the opposing deck's tempo fluctuates between useful and worthless. Could easily be replaced.

Wheel of Sun and moon can help relieve the guilt of discarding Sigils or other powerful enchantments to PoM and if your in a massive multiplayer setting you can use it with a Auratog to allow you to reload. It also can be used aggressively against certain decks, but that is more exception than rule.

Idyllic tutor just makes the whole thing work from game to game reliably.

Oh, and just for fun, you can run a glorius anthem and a Where ancients tread in this deck, and the two combine to turn your angels into Lava Axes. Not useful in a strictly practical sense, but something I enjoy doing in casual games.

Deck discussion for Another Ideal

interesting idea for a deck, dont think wraths r really important though, id just suggest replacing some of the less important enchants like peace of mind or endless horizons with some auras for creatures suggest soaring hopes and spirit link, these allow for healing and increased amount of angels from sigil

Solitary Confinement and Form of the Dragon are both awesome. Solitary Confinement makes you INVINCIBLE (to damage). This is a cool deck though.

Good Luck, kung-fu_elmo

PS: plz comment on my decks, specifically "Guys on 'Roids"

I disagree... my main problem with the deck is the first 1-8 turns or so before I drop my Ideal. As long as I can drop the ideal, my angel will be so numerous it doesn't matter (it's not uncommon for this deck to make 7+ 4/4 flyers in a turn.). Creature enchants would just be overkill at that point.

For a deck like that Wraths are a necessity. They allow me to hold back large groups of monsters and my Peace of Minds are often the only thing that gets me to my Ideal.

Also, I'm not sure if you know this, but Soaring hopes does not synergize well with Ideal. Since Ideal prevents you from casting spells for the rest of the game, I can't bounce it and replay it after I drop the ideal, meaning its giving a small stat add and flying to creatures so numerous and powerful that the stat adds are meager and flying is what they already got.

As it stands if I were to get rid of someting it would definately be the porphyry nodes, as i mentioned, as the tend not to be as useful as they could be (though they tend to be great in games where my wraths aren't).

in response to Kung-fu: I was making this Extended legal so Solitary was off the table.

And I considered Form but it would require a more extensive red commitment than I was willing to make. also, I don't like hovering at five life in a meta-game that will be swarming with banefires

If you ever choose to make this T1, look up Opalescence Replenish decks. The main cards are all fairly cheap, and this type of deck is one of the funnest control around. Main cards: Opalescence, Replenish, Parallax Tide, Parallax Wave, and Attunement. You basically draw, control, and smash.
For the extended deck, I would main endless horizons, since it's the easiest way to draw what you need, and main the throne. It's your only means of offense. Cut Idle thoughts, sun and moon, add another nodes, and more white spot removal (oblivion ring).
