Deck Description

Hot Sushi is a variation of my Budget Breakfast! build (which in turn is a variation of the classic Cephalid Breakfast deck) that runs blue and red for its mana base rather than blue and black. The benefit of running red is being able to throw in a few cheap burn spells which help this deck go up against fast decks that throw a lot of creatures at you. The downside is not being able to run Duress or use Cabal Therapy if it's in your hand.

The combo remains the same. Target Cephalid Illusionist endlessly with Shuko to mill yourself. Then dread return karmic guide by sacrificing the narcomoeba that come into play. Use Karmic Guide to bring in[Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and use Kiki to create a copy of the Guide. Use this copy to bring in Sky Hussar which untaps Kiki. Now make unlimited hasted Hussars and attack for the win.

This deck has protection in the form of Red Elemental Blast, Foil (or FoW if you have money), Dispel and Magma Jet. If you need them, you can sideboard in the two Cabal Therapy too.

The sideboard is unfinished and the deck could of course be improved by someone who is able to acquire expensive cards like Force of Will. However, for a budget deck (actually cheaper than Budget Breakfast! even) this deck performs admirably.

I have tested it and it's pretty close to being able to hold it's own against more popular Legacy tournament decks such as **Zoo**, **Merfork** and **U/G Survival** which is the current deck that's ravaging Legacy right now. It's still susceptible to sideboard hate but I haven't finished building Hot Sushi's sideboard either. Any suggestions on sideboard cards would be great!

Anyways, Star City Games seems to think the time is right for combo decks to take back the scene since that seems to be Survival's biggest weakness. I think they are right. Could a variation of Cephalid Breakfast make a comeback? Who knows.

Nonetheless, take a look at this build!
