Deck Description

My take on Michael Flores' Blue 5 color Dragon's deck.

I decided to skip the whole Encase in Ice and Master of the Waves scenario to battle Red aggro and splashed a little Black for some efficient removal. That splash also allows for the beast Ashiok in the main.

I also dropped Kolaghan as he seems a little too cute and more of a tag along in Flores' SB to up the Dragon count.
I also think that curving out at 6 rather then 7, (minus the one Ugin that is debatable and can easily be replaced with a second Ashiok), is a more consistent way to go, especially against Abzan aggro, so I am on the fence with the inclusion of Atarka although I really want to play her...!

These tweeks naturally also makes the SB more powerful then the original deck.

My Dragons are also different then the Flores' list; a little because of a difference of opinion, (I value Icefall Regent higher then he does against aggro), and a little because of accessibility, (I only own 2 Ojutai and a final list should probably play 3).

How to Play

See Flores' articles about his deck as my version plays similarly with the one exception of rather then SB in 11 cards against Red and Abzan aggro you just "go get target Black card required" from mine, (Ultimate Price/Drown in Sorrow against Red and Vault/Spouts/Self-Inflicted Wound against Abzan. Sprinkle in some Drifting Death when required).

Deck discussion for Old Standard Blue Dragons!

I think you might want to tag out the vault for Crux of fate- 9 total cmc over 2 turns <5 cmc and you can cast it and leave your dragons in play. I would also suggest having hero's downfall its the most consistent way to deal with Plainwalkers

Den Protector/Deathmist Raptor is a thing and Vault deals with all of that without the double black cost, (big deal). Spouts out of the SB should deal with the rest. Hyper fast aggro is pretty much all this deck fears and even then they need a hell of a starting hand.
