Suggestions are welcome, this is in no way the finished deck.

Just a culmination of ideas that I have had.

I can't afford Basilisk Colllar :/

Basilisk Collar is better Gorgon Flail. You even get 1 life that way :)

And maybe try "Cinder Pyromancer'' It's like a second Gelectrode :P

And here's mine Izzet deck, you might get some idea's:

I'm not sure if it fits this deck, but I love the combo of Horseshoe Crab + Quicksilver Dagger. Plus, since you're already running deathtouch equips, imagine all 3 of those together... draw a card and kill a creature for each blue mana you pay. Nasty.

I had to re read your Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind and curiosity combo, at first I thought you wouldnt be able to end the combo so it would be a draw, with further reading "deal one damage to target player OR creature" you would kill your opponent then kill ur niv nice combo, and nice deck in general

Curiosity is a may so u dont have to draw once u kill ur opponent. also the moment he hits 0 life he loses.

Its scary how similar our decks are. Seriously, look: Deck link: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=164351

NIv-Mizzet works well with a Gorgon Flail as well. :)

You don't have curiosity though which is probably my favorite part of this deck.

Niv-Mizzet + Curiosity is pretty much instant win.

True. I should look in to getting some Curiositys, its a fantastic combo if you can pull it off.

Yeah, the way I tried to make this deck is so I can pretty much hit any of the combos because there is multiples of them and if for some reason I can't hit a combo then there is the Wee Dragonauts.

I really like this deck. I actually have a red green deck that is very similar to this and usually dominates when I play with my friends. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=153871

Another thing i really like about your decks is that you keep the cost down. I also try to keep the cost of a deck to $20 or $30.

wow you already have a nice deck. what else can i say hmm.. maybe you can just replace cancel with something less mana intensive like negate if you're just gonna use it to defend your combo or kinda control your opponent. it'll work just as fine imo. btw how are you gonna cast niv-mizzet? wait for 6 turns? maybe think of something that'll make it work faster..

hi guys! please help with my deck. i need it badly haha. kindly criticize it. here's the link :D

I've been thinking about the Niv Mizzet and I was probably going to just leave it how it is because turn 6 isn't awful.

But I will add Negates.

I would suggest dropping gorgon flail for some basilisk collar and quietus spike.

this is definitely fun. I put Niv- mizzet in the front runners for my EDH commander poll, but the other guys in that list are pretty raw also. Could you maybe look at all of em and tell me which one would make a good deck?

I made a deck by a similar name yesterday >.>, feel free to look at it (shameless self promotion):p
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=252663
seems like a popular pun to use :p
anyway, try running stuff like brainstorm and desperate ravings if you want to use niv mizzet, as they "draw" more then you actually get, activating niv's ability for higher damage counts. throw that on with gelectrode and dragonauts and the damage gets to higher levels

Replace Gelectrode with Goblin Sharpshooter.

Give Goblin Sharpshooter death touch and then kill every targetable creature on the field.

A friend of mine has that combo in a deck. It slaughters creature decks.

Consider using the card Freed From the Real. It combos very obviously with Gelectrode and Niv-Mizzet, and can also work as pseudo-removal if you use it to tap an opponent's creature during each one of their upkeeps. Highly recommend the card.

Id do basilisk collar, goblin sharpshooter, and a couple reliquary towers (land) for iv-mizzet + curiosity combo so you can keep your cards. Or spellbook whatever you be feeling.

Anybody who runs Nivmizzet and Curiosity together should be made to watch The View for 24 hours straight. lol JK. Great deck man. The izzet guild was probably the best in that block.

NOT even close! Izzet was too dependant on spells, which made it hard to have enough room for the creatures that would benefit.

So is the Desperate Ritual still applied to every Lava Spike the Guildmage copies? As in infinite Lava Spikes? Because that's pretty friggin' awesome!

U/R has always had some interesting multi-colored cards. I made a ping deck that uses Niv-Mizzet and Gelectrodes as well, if you'd care to take a look!

Question: I am buying cards for this deck because it looks lovely. But I read that people say Niv-Mizzet+curiosity is a great combo. But it would only do 1 damage per turn, right? It seems that nuking the player with spells/Wee Dragonauts seems like a better thing to go for. Could someone please explain this to me? I'm a newbie so I might not understand it well enough.

Niv + Curiosity = instakill

Might I recommend putting in Chandra's Spitfire, as opposed to the Dragonaut.

Also, Twiddle would be a valuable addition.

Here's why:

Put Curiosity on Gelectrode.
Chandra's Spitfire gets really big, really fast.

Simply casting a Twiddle to untap Gelectrode would make thee Spitfire a 10/3.

So, for 1 blue mana (twiddle), you get:
Lightning Bolt (Gelectrode pinging 3 times)
Ancestral Recall (Drawing from Gelectrode with Curiosity)
10/3 Spitfire to attack with.

Something else to consider, because 1 problem this kind of deck can and will experience is removal.

But I warn you: It's green.
