Deck Description

Malignant decides to spend his winter vacation in the tropics. When his friends drop by the property values decline. Beach front homes are wrecked, palm trees are uprooted and the sand is stained with blood. Spring breakers beware.

How to Play

use whatever blue control you can get your hands on. Prisons, cages, bounce spells or anything that takes out the power of a creature. these are a few examples but there is so much more to choose from. Don't use anything else from blue.

Next splash in another color of your choice. Green seems to be most effective but I have had success with black and red as well as a mono blue version using only flyers.

On the topic of the other color. Use whatever that colors strong point is. Make sure that the spell is a stand alone. Flying creatures, trample, direct damage etc. Make sure it is cheap!!!! Cost should be 4 of one drops, 4 of two, 4 of three, etc. Diversify but retain the brutality. X damage or X drops should be used with caution. Have a back up plan for those in case it doesn't work out. If you are to use them, make sure your opponent is pretty well confused and/or crippled.

Never make one thing too scary or obvious. Never make anything a center piece. Your opponent will sniff that out and get rid of it. Make everything irritate your opponent but nothing in particular. Don't go for speed, go for efficiency. The way this works is you let the opponent have a little bit of ground and then you freeze or neutralize the troops on the field. Killing is not key, aggravation is. When you can get the opponent locked up send in your troops and consistently work him down. Don't go for 'hail mary's' or long shots. Keep the opponent pressured.

Deck discussion for Trouble in Paradise

trade out the Terramorphic Expanse for Simic Guildgate and the Ice Cage for Domestication and you have a standard deck
also, ghostly Prison needs a replacement out of the board for that to work as standard.

yeah, i'm wasn't really going for a standard build. Thanks for that advice though. I might do that. This is just some left over cards. Just something to keep our casual games interesting. I noticed I could control the opponents creatures and send some flyers in for cheap consistent damage and before I knew it this was beating some modern and vintage decks.
