I wanted to build a vampire deck, but I also wanted a burn deck. Hence this thing. Uses the Vampire Tribal which I feel has some pretty good options with Zendikar and Innistrad. It also supplements your vamps with some pretty potent burn.
I like to draw an opening hand containing no less than 2 lands and 3 is ideal. If i have an Aether Vial or Stromkirk Noble I pretty much always play the vial. You can spend your leftover mana each turn on Lava Spikes and Bump in the Night as they are Sorceries. I also try to play the creature I want to attack with, such as a Bloodghast or Vampire Nighthawk, the turn before I play one of the Stromkirk Captain or Captivating Vampire. Save your Lightning Bolts and Gatekeeper of Malakir for creature removal. Especially save your Lightning Bolts to make holes in your enemies lines or if you can finish your opponent. I know Vampire Nocturnus is odd in the Sideboard however, when you sideboard this deck you lose a lot of power as you pretty much have to take out most of your burn spells in place for Terminate and Extirpate. You also have a pretty easy time doing this as you can make up for this power loss much easier with Vampire Nocturnus coming in for Stromkirk Noble and as an added bonus all your spells are now black save for Aether Vial. Cavern of Souls really only comes in for when you run into counter magic. I just also want to point out Aether Vial can pretty much always stop at 3. The only time is doesn't stop at 3 is post sideboard for Vampire Nocturnus and your just cant get the mana and you gotta do something.
