Deck Description

Dragon Deck with a splash of blue.

How to Play

The idea is pretty simple - attack with dragons. Your opponent most likely won't have enough flying defense to block them all. And once you get Utvara Hellkite out, your army will double in size every turn.

Slumbering Dragon is a good turn 1 dragon. It will either prevent your opponent from attacking you, cause a pretty big consequence if he attacks you too much, or he will at least waste a kill spell on it, giving him one less kill spell to use on the bigger dragons to come. You can also use Ring of Valkas to make sure it gets its +1/+1 counters.

Dragon Hatchling is a nice firebreathing 2-drop. It provides some early defense and/or attacking power. And even small dragons like this can result in 6/6 dragons from Utvara later.

The next dragon you can put down, after getting 4 lands out, is Archwing Dragon. It's a nice way to get in 4 damage a turn if your opponent has no flying defense and you have nothing better to do. But otherwise, it should be saved to get an extra dragon from Utvara.

Next is the 5-drops, Hypersonic Dragon and Moonveil Dragon. I mostly added Hypersonic Dragon because it's a 5-mana 4/4 with flying and haste. The fact that you can cast sorceries like instants is meaningless in this deck. Moonveil Dragon is a great way to pump up your entire army of dragons, especially Balefire Dragon if you can get it through.

At 7 mana is Balefire Dragon, part of the reason I made this deck red and blue. With Artful Dodge, you can make sure he gets through, and will likely cause all of your opponent's creatures to be destroyed. If 6 damage to all creatures isn't enough, he can be pumped up more by Moonveil.

The last dragon is Utvara Hellkite at 8 mana, and is pretty much the reason I built this deck. If you can get this guy out, your opponent is probably screwed. Nuff said.

Artful Dodge was included for Balefire Dragon, as described above. It could also be used to make sure another powerful dragon gets through.

Ring of Valkas is there so that dragons can attack right when they come out, and of course to give them +1/+1 counters (especially Slumbering Dragon).
