Deck Description

Simple and straightforward mill deck. Designed to be decent and inexpensive.

How to Play

Kraken Hatchling, Fog Bank, and Hover Barrier for defense. Aetherize to hold back attacking creatures. This deck uses simple but good mill spells like Curse of the Bloody Tome, Mind Sculpt, Increasing Confusion, and Breaking (we won't be using the entering part). Also, Grisly Spectacle can kill a big guy and mill a bit at the same time. Mirko Vosk can easily be a Mind Funeral a turn, but if your opponent has enough flying defense, he'll just sit there being a 2/4 wall. Consuming Aberration can be very powerful, and may be able to take out an opponent on its own. But we're mostly using it to give our spells a bonus of extra milling.

Sideboard is still being worked on; at the moment it has Tormod's Crypt in case having stuff in the graveyard is advantageous to your opponent, Notion Thief to counter major life gain like Sphinx's Revelation, Thrull Parasite in case counters of some sort are a problem, and to gain some life to slow down decks like burn, and Glaring Spotlight because Witchbane Orb would mess up this deck pretty badly.

Deck discussion for Standard Mill

Looks slow though. Any deck with a decent amount evasion or direct damage would rinse this deck. Any good sideboard could deal with this. Psychic strike might be good with this if you're looking to hold people off and control the game, and more of that 'mill until you hit a land' stuff. Just seems like walls are kind of easy to deal with. Maybe a few good walls and more control would be nice. It would hold of any big burn spells, or something like aurelia's fury.

Cards that could help and no expensive: Elixer of Immortality - lifegain and mirror match Undercity informer/Mortus Strider combo - 4 mana guaranteed mill per turn average 3+ cards Mindshrieker milland flying defense from one source. I play Standard mill as a casual deck, but ir can win an occasional game from a top tier deck.

May i ask why mortus striders? it seems like it would totally ruin the flow of the deck.

Because you can sacrifice it multiple times to Undercity Informer. But since I don't have either in this deck, I'm not going to bother with that.
