Main Deck (62 cards)

Sideboard (116 cards)

Deck Description

(disregard the sideboard - it's completely haphazard and used more for a "what if" collection of cards)

Uses Master of Cruelties to bring the opponent near death, then Ninjutsu to finish them off during the same combat phase. This is the signature move! All other cards in the deck are used to support this combo.

In the theme of being sneaky like a ninja, strip the opponent's deck of useful cards and remove them from the game!

So far, most of the key cards are a little expensive, so ramping up mana sources has been a big focus - suggestions are welcome!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Master Of Cruelties / Mistblade Shinobi :: the combo team
- Birds of Paradise / Sylvan Caryatid :: to help mana resources

- Countersquall / Dissipate / Boomerang :: slow the opponent down
- Cryptic Command :: a little expensive, but can counter spells, bounce creatures or tap all opposing creatures for Master Of Cruelties to attack unblocked

- Extirpate / Surgical Extraction / Slaughter Games :: make the opponent's deck impotent and remove anything that could stand in the way of the Master

- Artful Dodge / Distortion Strike :: set up Master of Cruelties

- Lightning Bolt / Pyroclasm :: deal with early creatures or use Lightning Bolt as an alternative for the Ninjutsu attack.

How to Play

The Master is a little expensive, which is why the deck is heavy with counters to stall the opponent. When possible, combo a counter spell with a card removal spell (Extirpate, Surgical Extraction). Combo a bounce spell (Boomerang) with Slaughter Games.

Even though you have to wait to get him out, don't be too hasty to play the Master, as he will obviously become a target in a hurry. Try to have enough mana ready to cast Master Of Cruelties but have a counter spell in response if the opponent tries something. Try waiting until the opponent is mostly tapped out from a previous turn.

I like Cryptic Command because of it's flexibility - haven't been disappointed by it yet. Use it generously.

As of writing this, there's not a TON of creature removal here. I've found that I've got to take some damage from creatures before I can make my move. Sometimes my life is at an uncomfortably low level before I can get busy. Again, suggestions welcome.

Once you have the Master out, make the move as soon as you can. Artful Dodge and Distortion Strike are cheap for making him unblockable. So is the cost for Mistblade Shinobi's Ninjutsu ability to follow up with. And of course, if for some reason the ninja is dealt with, you can throw a Lightning Bolt.

Also, since the deck uses 4 colors (green mostly just for mana) I tried to make my lands as versatile as possible. There are a lot of lands that come into play tapped, but hopefully you can get those out early.
