Deck Description

My second deck ever created, I'm quite new to mtg so this deck is bound to have some major errors and optimization possibilities. This deck is supposed to be played casually with friends where the number of players often exceeds three persons.

The one problem I have is the consistency of the draws sometimes I'm unable to do anything and sometimes I end up with a really good hand.

Feel free to give any feedback regarding what was done wrong/what can be done right/ and any tips or w/e.

How to Play

This deck focuses on lifelink/drainlife whilst also having some useful spells that could reset the game if the tide would turn against you.

The enchantments focus on hindering your opponents from gaining life and making you solely benefit from any fighting between them. Debtor's knell also helps to bring back some of the creatures late game.

Creatures such as Kokusho, the Evening Star can be sacrificed to drain life from the opponents. Vizkopa Guildmage will help to spread the damage between opponents. Athreos, God of Passage helps to damage opponents health or resurrect fallen creatures.

If you use the instant Rest for the Weary while Tainted Remedy is activated you could do serious damage to an opponent, and if you have Exquisite Blood enabled you also gain that much life. The same could be done if you activate Vizkopa Guildmage's second ability and use Rest for the Weary which could deal 8 damage to all other opponents.

Deck discussion for Drain life

Just in case you arent aware... since you didnt mention it in your description... you have an infinite combo. Exquisite Blood and Vizkopa's second ability create a loop... gain life while thats active and its an instant game over.

If you find yourself low on mana alot, try finding space for a few Crypt Ghast. That should help get Kokusho or Knell out quicker.

I was wondering about the infinite loop and discussed with my friends earlier this week, they said that the abilities would only activate once... But as I previously mentioned we're new to magic so it is likely we miss quiet a few rules. But is it infinite loops "legal" or are they restricted?

Cool I will look into it and see how I can incorporate them! Thanks for the answer! :)

Infinite loops are indeed a thing, though technically by magic rules you have to call a set number. So with this particular combo, which I also run in a few decks, you have to specify "I gain (number of life, lets say 2 for this example), you lose 2, because you lost 2 I gained 2, because I gained 2 you lost 2, continuing on until you've lost a million and I've gained a million." or something like that. Feel free to look up magic rulings on the combo through google. But yes, it definitely triggers more than once =D

No problem dear! Thats what this site is for.
