Deck Description

I've always loved the control aspect of blue/black. They have access to the best control suite in the game because of the counter spells that blue provides and the kill and removal that black provides. At first I wanted to make a blue black mill control, but then after seeing the potential of weenies like Jace's Phantasm and Wight of Precint Six I decided to make a weird amalgamation of an aggro/mill/control blue black which you see here now

Sideboard is a bit of a joke right now and definitely needs some help, I just threw in some cards that synergise fairly well

I think the deck is looking very strong as it is now though It may need a tiny bit more creatures
that being said I have my eye on the creatures listed in the Sideboard.

Do comment on any changes you think might help the Main deck or Sideboard

How to Play

Jace's Phantasm and Wight of Precinct Six are your weenies that turn into huge threats the later the game progresses due to your mill and creature control putting their stuff straight to the graveyard
Jace's Phatasm is an excellent carrier of Paranoid Delusions because it's flying
Turn 1 Phantasm into Turn 2 Paranoid Delusions is a very powerful start indeed

Desecration Demon is a great pick for this deck in that it is insanely mana efficient and either forces them to lose even more creature advantage (and pump your creatures which benefit from more stuff in the graveyard) or take a 6/6 flying to the face.

By the time you come to play Consuming Aberration you've basically won. It is your mid game to late game powerhouse and benefits so much from the mill the deck provides and can honestly win games by itself.

Your control suite consists of:
Creature Removal:
4x Doom Blade
2x Dimir Charm
2x Murder (only 2 Murders because double black mana is a bit tricky to pull off all the time at instant speed)
Mill:
2x Dimir Charm
4x Psychic Strike
4x Paranoid Delusions
3x Pilfered Plans
2x Tome Scour
Counter Spells:
2x Dimir Charm
4x Psychic Strike

The 3 Pilfered Plans also help to draw out the big boys, Lazav, Desecration Demon and Consuming Aberration to close out the game as well as providing some free mill. Card Advantage is so powerful in this deck because of the amazing mana curve it has.

This deck packs a beating and results in fairly fast kills considering the control you're packing

Half of playing magic is getting the money for the expensive cards (which are usually the best)
that's what i hate about it :(
It's so expensive to keep buying cards when sets rotate haha

Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker and Breaking // Entering. They are both rare but very much unloved so you pick them up for a dollar apiece or less.

Mirko is a bit too much
he's a 5 drop for 2 power and he's another legendary and his mill is unneccessary because we're looking to win by damage. Milling is sort of a plan B

That said I like Consuming Aberration more

Same thing with Breaking (it's the only side ill be using)
There are much better 2 drops I can play and Tome Scour fulfills the role of sorcery speed milling

So, if you want to win with DAMAGE.........
Try looking at MY Dimir Mill-to-Buff deck if you want some good combos.
It revolves around using MIll to boost your creatures and then making them unblockable if possible.

I think my deck has more synergy than yours
For example you don't have Desecration Demon which forces your opponent to sac creatures and make your creatures stronger
Why do you need to making things unblockable when you already have 5/5 flying Jace's Phantasm and 6/6 flying Desecration Demon... Waste of mana much?
Also you have no creature removal The only thing you have is Dimir Charm which won't work against bigger threats

My deck will also be faster
You have more lands clogging your deck and you need 4 mana to play diabolic tutor whereas i can play 4 mana to play Desecration Demon or Lazav, Dimir Mastermind (and then Murder your strongest creature and copy it)
As well as that Mind Grind needs lots of mana to use it effectively so it's not good in rush decks and you're running 4 in your deck...

"Good Combos"
Are you serious bro
If anything my deck has more combos than yours

So did you read the description?
Use the mill to buff the Aberrations, and then make them unblockable.
And I went for creatures that gain benefit from milling, not make more mill!
Plus, I don't really NEED the creature removal.

As stated in the above comment, use the mill to boost the creatures and make them unblockable.
Please read before you comment!!

And you have 1 combo I can see.

For the record, I don't play mill. As in my deck's description, it is an alternative of a mill deck I have seen. So don't bag ME out if YOU missed some details.

... 1 combo?
I use the same creatures...

1 combo?

You didn't read How to Play obviously

I only had a quick look through it, because it was so long. But you are right there.
I guess I should have read it more carefully.
But you could find room for Breaking//Entering, I suppose.

And just to clear up, MY deck has no destroy spells, because it focuses specifically on Mill (with a bit of searching). To compensate for the lack of destroy, though, it adds Unblockable spells for a smooth and easy win.

(couldn't help myself) sideboard some Memnite for the deck. They are pretty cool.

Well, I am sorry, too. I guess nobody's perfect, right?

Could you offer any suggestions on my Boros Super Hostile? I plan to enter tournaments with it, and need to perfect it for the end of the year.
