Deck Description

This is my eventual deck that i will be making. I have most of the cards here already just a few more to go. It's main goal is to hit HARD an FAST and never ever let up with the use of creatures that are hard to get rid of and are easily buff-able.

I am currently testing the best use of the cards in the side-board and changing the number of certain cards in the main deck.

The 4 biggest cards that i am having trouble deciding on what are more helpful.

1. Vraska has been very...under-whelming and not very helpful to what i want to do with this deck

2. Blood Artists are VERY helpful almost every time i put them in the deck but i am having trouble deciding what to get rid of for them.

3. Blessings of Nature has been...scary, I have turned a simple gravecrawler into a 13/12 through the use of scavenge and this spell with the help of Corpsejack Menace. Getting this card 4+ turn and playing it for 1 green is game changing 80% of the time.

4. I kinda want to main-deck Giant Growth...it's such a powerful card able to played defensively in an emergency situation (i hate my friends burn deck but this spell saved more then one creature allowing me to get some early game damage in before he got another burn)

Deck discussion for The Golgari Swarm! (Zombies)

Add in 3 Blood artist, 3 Blessings of Nature, 3 Giant Growth and the one Vraska. And then I think it will look pretty good. :)

I see. :) lol. That's where I got it from. lol. I would put those in the main deck and sideline the rest, adding Bower Passage, and an extra Vraska.

i exchange things constantly between my main deck and side-deck depending on what the deck is fighting.

Also from all my testing...Vraska doesn't really help this deck :\

she wants a more...mid to late game deck not this early game zombies i have going

Triple color decks are too much of a risk...they almost always have issues maintaining mana

Not bad early game deck have a feeling that it might have some problems if someone could hold you to a game of attrition.

depends...Scavenge and corpesjack menace give this deck a decent mid-game. Abrupt decay is also great for removing things like Oblivion Ring or Detention Sphere.

not if u add the right cards i have an tri colore ally deck that works perfect if u add a fetch land like evolving wilds which cuts ur deck low a little u get the land u need and u dont have to wry abt getting mana fucked that often...there darkslick shores from scars that could help

hehe sorry forgot too mention i mostly play Standard and that this deck is Standard :p

and evolving wilds is NOT a card a early-game aggro deck wants. it would put me back a turn land wise which can be suicide for this kind of deck. (sorry if i sound kinda critical, i play semi-competitive and try to make decks that at least get me to the finals ^_^ )

If you want deck clearing maybe Farseek. @Mephisto how can I make that deck better?

Personally I would add probably 4 sign in blood

It's a great card...but i'd rather have a kill card or a creature to swing with for this early game aggro deck

Maybe I'm just Old Fashioned and like my cheap 2/2's, but I'd prefer Diregraf Ghoul to Dreg Mangler, or even the 1 mana spell that spits out a 2/2 zombie for an exiled critter from the 'yard.

Ahh but that Haste and scavenge make him too useful to kick-out for a Diregraf Ghoul.

and i have enough one drops with Slitherhead (amazing) and Gravecrawler (freaking amazing)

Your right vraska is not for this deck at all she's for main ring board control not acquiring it or finishing the game single handedly also the guild gate is unnescary it slows down your land drop add 4 over it and I agree for an Aggro deck a 2/2 for one beats a 3/3 hast even though the other has scavenge
Also rakdos cackler could fill much the same role

0

That Haste has proven too valuable too many times for me to get rid of it :\ and i've used his scavenge many times to give the extra boost to another creature of mine to win the game. Scavenge just works too well with giving this deck just a tiny bit of lasting power for mid-game if i need it. (specially with CorpseJack 6 +1 counters is amazing)

Also Cackler isn't a zombie so Diregraf would get in before him.

i would go 3 Blessings of Nature 3 Giant Growth a rancor or that walker and use the slots you have left for some more removal.but im a sucker for cower in fear and tragic slip

I would suggest Desecration Demon as a way of stalling or causing your opponent to keep sacking creatures if they don't want it to swing at them or a kill card. In general it can effect the board in many ways giving it a lot of versatility.

Not bad!

U have a total of 7 Giant Growth in the deck... U know it's not legal, right? :)

Use Overgrown Tomb instead of Guildgate!..

I like the complection!..

very nice and impressive deck.. the synergy is quite good too... like someone said why do you have 7 giant growths? O.o anyway i think your just saving that spot for something, titanic growth perhaps? wild defiance for added boost? or wreath of geist if your expecting alot of corpses in your graveyard... i think any of them will do..

all good spells...i was thinking about getting more kill spells tho. Titanic Growth might get put into the side-board tho.

I really like it. I don't think it needs to be changed at all. Maybe add Abrupt Decay for those early game annoyances? Could you please check out mine? It's a little different. U/B/G reanimate.

I like the idea of ranger's guile instead of giant growth because if your already going to use rancor giant growth seems redundant to me plus you can save which ever creature is getting the most threat attention from your opponent. Also I haven't had too much success with slitherhead's so keep in them in mind when playing them. I think diregraf ghoul would serve you better as another 2 power 1 drop. If your going to keep slitherheads then consider using bone splinters instead of murder. It's cheaper when you use it on a geralf that hasn't died yet, or a gravecrawler, then you get extra triggers on blood artist, and with slitherheads you can play them and get extra use out of their lives.

What about adding Deadly Allure? it´s great on zombie/golgari decks and works even better if you have blood artist. Check my deck, its similar to yours http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=391702

Question..... How can you run golgari zombies without jarad? If you ask me he's a must have. Also, it might be better to take out 1 Lotleth Troll and put in Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. 1 more thing.... take out the murders and swap them for bone splinters. I use bone splinters in my deck (Golgari) and they work great!

0

Jarad would be a god...if dredge was still a thing. but sadly scavenge actually works against him, lowering the amount of creatures in my graveyard.

No...just no XD this is an early game aggro deck Mikaeus costs 7 mana...i don't have anything more then 4 mana in this deck

YO!

U might wanna' C theese: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=393748

:)

I'd play 2 Bone Splinters & 1 Tragic Slip instead of Murder in yours... Add some grave hate to the sideboards to be able to deal with other grave decks...

This is insain. I told my self I'd only be playing Izzit when Ravnica returned.. but I have almost all these cards.. I don't think I can resist building this awesome deck!

PS if you can find the time, I'd still love some help building an Izzet deck - it seems a lot harder than Golgari.. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=393727 DS.

Why not run Unbreathing Horde instead of either the Blood Artists or Geralf's Messenger?
The Horde would become incredibly powerful with corpsejack menace on the field, not to mention how powerful it becomes with each zombie you already control.
