Deck Description

Nothing really groundbreaking here... just another version of an Angel of Glory's Rise deck. This one contains an infinite combo with AoGR, Fiend Hunter, and Falkenrath Aristocrat, and a high number of 'enter the battlefield' effects with some minor Soldier synergy with Captain of the Watch on top of the Humans tribal theme. I've added Fervor and Cathars' Crusade for what are probably just 'win more' conditions, and will probably remove them after play testing a bit, but they seem fun for now.

How to Play

Using Faithless Looting, survive long enough to get Defy Death and Falkenrath Aristocrat into your hand, and AoGR, Fiend Hunter, and a few other humans into the graveyard. Open to suggestions for improving this, preferably in a way that's not complete cookie-cutter to everyone else's version of the same!

Deck discussion for Human's Rise

Hmm Looks like fun! Perhaps you could replace those enchants with 2 copies of Gisela, maybe? That gives you another nasty reanimate target if you haven't pulled AoGR. She can really tilt games just on her own if your opponent can't get rid of her, and fast. I would also be tempted to tone down the strongholds. Maybe 1 or two but I think three colourless mana is slightly too much to handle (not sure what you think?) I would switch it/them for extra summits.

Nice.

Yeah, I agree with the above. Also, while Aristocrat is boss (or bosses? w/e) as a cheap and perfectly human sacrifice outlet you could also use Cartel Aristocrat from Gatecrash; one more reanimation target for you, and she also gets protection from colors, not just indestructible (with the drawback of not getting counters, and without the flying and haste though; comparing here to a mythic isn't really fair, lol).

Thanks for the suggestions! Both are good. I definitely agree with less Strongholds. One is probably sufficient. I love Gisela, I might try a copy or two of her, but she's not human. Cartel Aristocrat isn't a bad idea as another human, unfortunately I won't be able to play test with her for another month online. But she could replace Aristocrat, as the infinite loop can still be accomplished with it, giving her protection from all colors, and if I have a Cathars out, infinitely pumping my battlefield. I played about 10 games online last night and discovered two additional things. One was that I needed more humans in my graveyard, maybe accomplished with Chronic Flooding or something similar. The second was that I probably need to include at least two Unburial Rites. 10 games isn't a lot to work with, but Fervor was never a factor, Cathars' Crusade did win me one game that I probably wouldn't have won without it (aggro race), and never once did I not have an AoGR to use when I needed it.

Any suggestions for more card filtering in addition to Faithless Looting? I don't really want to splash blue for Flooding, or green for Mulch/Instincts/Salvage but something like those would be perfect. Just can't think of any...

You might could try Vigilante Justice for some indirect damage here and there while you build up...it may help out later if you find you arent doing enough...also Conjurer's Closets will allow you to flicker some humans or other creatures until you can pull off your ultimate goal.
