Deck discussion for Turn 2 WIN

In response shock? and how do you win if you're only dealing 19? best hope you play a memnite first turn haha, cool idea though!

He's dealing the last point of damage using death cultist/taste of blood

Because they have already lost 1 life from either Taste of blood or Death Cultist.

Great deck but like above a burn deck will end you. Shock or lightning bolt after pump with 19 life before attack. I figure you will win 9 out of 10 though +1 here

But its a nice combo, maybe not a 2 round winning, but if you play carefully u can use this combo and take your opponent with his guard down..
Take a look at my swamp deck too, since you made one maybe u can help me there ;P

It makes a nice combo too, not a 2 round win, but still nice
Haha

Interesting idea but turn 2 win is unlikely. Your combo requires 9 cards, so your turn 2 is on the draw, or turn 3 on the play. That means opponents will get 2 turns at least before you combo, assuming you get lucky enough to draw the exact opening hand AND first 2 draw steps. In legacy, by turn 2 they will have either already dealt some damage to you(if its a fast deck) or they will have one of legacy's many cheap/free counterspells ready. If Rite gets countered, you pretty much lose. Game 1 you probably have less than a 50%win rate, once opponents sideboard and know what you're looking to do, you will lose almost all of your game2/3s

It's some neat shananigans but in the end that is all it is. Would work better in EDH, and have a much higher win rate with similar combos such as the "pay x color: gets +1/+0", or firebreathing, cards out there. It's unfortunate, but this is definitely casual play based.

What the guy above me said.

I just came up with this idea for fun . I'm not actually going to play with this deck in a tournament...I would get my ass handed to me the first time I played a RDW deck haha. The combo only takes 8 cards. you lay down a swamp turn 1 and then after your draw in turn 2 you must then have all the cards needed to complete this combo in your hand which might happen 1 out of 10 times. I don't actually play with decks like this because you are depending on the perfect hand to win and I that's not really my style. I'm all about aggro and consistency with my decks. I just thought thought this was a cool combo. If you want to actually see the types of decks I play with in a tournament check out my modern Delver/Infect deck and my standard RDW deck.
Thanks for all the comments

That was really my whole point, deck depends on perfect draw AND opponent having neither a counter or burn, so too inconsistent to actually play. Still an interesting combo.

Pretty sweet, but how often do you draw everything you need before the opponent kills you? You could try adding some black tutor cards or splashing blue for cards like Brainstorm and Ponder to speed things up.

Don't want to sound like a dick or something, but this would never work. You are relying on a perfect hand of 8/9 cards, what are the odds?
I like the idea, but I strongly dislike this "Turn 2" approach.

Very cool idea, tough to get that wall though... maybe change these things to a turn one gravecrawler and hatred... or any 1or less 2 power and win easily

When do you cast Wall of Blood? And where is the summoner sickness for the active ability? :)

Creature abilities that don't require a tap activation can still be used.

That's why cards like Crypt Rats can be abused.

Clearly you just want to dream of a turn 2 win without any clear thoughts.

This is your scenario ALL in turn 2:
Swamp
Swamp
Ornithopter
Memnite
Culling the Weak
Dark Ritual
Taste of Blood/Death Cultist
Wall of Blood
Rite of Consumption

Chances of this is not 1/10 times. It's more like 1/1000 or less

First, that's 9 cards, perfectly drawn, on turn 2. That in itself is unreasonable.
Secondly, if you take the first turn, you start with 7 cards and draw 1 card on turn 2.

8 does not equal 9

If you really want a one hit wonder in Vintage/Legacy just do Dark Depths + Vampire Hexmage and Fling/Rite of Consumption

I'm not really dreaming of anything... I just thought it was cool haha.. Like I said before I would NEVER play with this deck or a deck like this.

Not sure if you've heard of it, I believe this was a popular combo some time back. Quillspike+Devoted Druid (+rite of consumption *optional*). Not a turn 2 win but it's probably more reliable. and you don't have to run off of your life to do it.

Kudos on figuring out a monoblack way to do this, but the concept isn't all that original, wall of blood and grab the reins won many a limited match during Mirrodin block...

With Taste of Blood, or Death Cultist played, you can pay 20 lives as well :) ...but it doesn't matter, 'cuz they deal 1 damage anyway...

Creative idea for a Legacy deck!.. :)

I like the idea and if it pops then great. I drew quite a few sample hands however and it is rather inconsistant. Some would win within 3 to 6 turns and others would have you dying of frustration waiting for the right card. I would say play it just for fun but dont rely on this deck for winning a tournament.

This deck does a 1 turn win......

Play swamp and 2 memnite/ornithopter/shield sphere/phyrexian walker.
Play Culling the weak, and sac both 0 cost creatures to it, for 8 black mana in pool.
Play Cultist/taste of blood.
Play wall of blood, then rite of consumption.

Chances of this happening are very very slim. Could be improved by including demonic tutor, as only 6 of the mana from culling the weak is used for wall of blood + rite of consumption + cultist/taste of blood.

Alternatively, this deck could win T1 with starting hand 3 dark ritual, 1 swamp, 1 wall of blood, 1 cultist/taste of blood and 1 rite of consumption.

So really not sure why you've called it T2 Win....

I love how this is a turn 2 budget deck. Only 30 bucks, and only a burn deck can stop you on turn 2. Good Deck, and Good idea.
