Deck Description

This is my second attempt at a group hug deck this time with the bant colors instead of sultai, it's mostly centered around helping people with mana and cards instead of playing cards like tempting wurm that just let every opponent drop their entire hand and make the phelddagrif useless.

How to Play

The early game for this deck is usualy rather painless since you're still helpful to everyone around you with mana ramp and cards but around the mid game people unfortunately tend to decide to kill off phelddagriff so it stops helping everyone.

The thing about this deck is the group hug element is pretty much self explanatory, play the group hug cards and dont think about whether or not it benefits the opponent more than you.

The real part of the tech is actually how we're gonna stay alive after the table starts turning on us.

Ghostly prison / Norn's annex / sphere of safety / Dissipation field / solitary confinement : These cards all encourage our opponents to go elsewhere and should buy some early game turns.

Vow of wildness / flight : These cards aren't for group hug means but to defend yourself throw them on the giant threat about to punch you in the face and force it to go elsewhere - Most opponents dont mind attacking someone else if you give their threat flying or trample.

Lastly we have the emergency cards on case we're facing down a huge ammount of damage:

Aetherize / aether spouts : Stops your opponent in his tracks without involving the other players - sometimes they even go for your attack now that his shields are down.

Illusionist's gambit: Force the attack to go elsewhere - once again this shouldn't get you any hate since your attack is making the choice to attack elsewhere.

Reins of power: Steal an opponent's creatures to block - Try and minimize damage to the borrowed creatures since you dont want to cause trouble with the other player you borrowed them from.

Constant mists: A real life saver always make sure to pay buyback on this one you dont need your lands for anything anyway.

The next step are "the show-stoppers" these are cards i added to the deck to prevent people from abusing the early ramp to go off.

Arcane denial / dream fracture - Counterspells that allows your opponent to draw - think of it as you apoolegizing for countering their spell.

Krosan grip: Basically here because I hate the card omniscience with a vengeance and the best way to to answer it is just remove it with split second it also takes cards like mycosynth lattice when the karn deck tries to blow up lands but it's mainly here for omniscience - Can be switched depending on your meta.

Take possession: This enchantment is here for when someone tries to make infinite combos with permanents involved, the easiest way to stop them is to just take their toy away with split second - again switch depending on your meta.

Ok let's talk about the elephant in the room: "Why is ulamog in a phelddagrif deck?" It's prety simple actually someone in my play group is often using mill to win so I needed to mill proof my deck and ulamog happend to be the easiest way to do that, It's also cheaper than kozilek (in terms of real money) and I like the option to destroy 1 problematic permanent.

The win cons (Yes even phelddagrif needs a win con.):
It may be the control player in me but I don't like playing a game in which I have pretty much no chance to win so I added a single win con which depending on your build can be switched out for other cards.

Aura thief + enchanted evening + high market = Steal all permanents

Yes I know this is not very phelddagrif-like but some games people can be d**** and it's nice to have a way to win the game for those games - I dont reccomend using it every single game though.

The main part of being a group hug deck apart from helping everyone have fun is to always ensure your own safety since if you're dead who will make the opponent's draw 7 cards for each spell?
