Deck Description

My take on a budget improvement of the preconstructed deck Repel the Darkness.

For a friend that's starting to learn Magic. Suggestions are welcome, just keep it within Innistrad or the Core sets, so I can just give him the cards if I pull them.

Deck discussion for Repel the Darkness 2.0

Mayor of Avarbuck is a great card to boost ur humans, and the 3/3 wolves wont hurt if he happens to transform. Hunter's insight can provide some draw, oblivian ring is great for removal, and Angelic destiny is a great finisher.

IMO: -3 Spare from Evil, -2 Sharpened Pitchfork, -2 Selfless Cathar, -1 White Knight, +4 Mayor +2 Oblivion Ring, +2 Hunter's Insight. But whatever works best for u.

Yeah, but those cards all rather expensive (for me and him that is). If I get those cards I'd give them to him (except the Mayor, I'd use him myself :P), but for now the deck is just to get him interested, before any true money investment.

If he gets interested and is willing to spend some money I'll tell him your suggestions. Thanks!

little idea that came to me only recently. IMO Silver-inlaid Dagger is better than the pitchfork. +3/+0 would finish off the opponent a lot quicker than a +1/+1 w/First strike. U lose the bonus on toughness, so it doesnt help defensively, but it is infinately better offensively. And i think it is just a cheap.
