Deck Description

Powerhouse of zombies. If I can play Ghoulcaller's Chant and Ghoulraiser halfway right, I can use them to get past an enemies burn/counter routine.

Deck discussion for My 1st Zombie Deck

Diregraf ghoul is probably the most powerful and beautiful zombie right now. I'd make room to add 4. 2/2 that you can drop turn one. You can attack with it turn 2, meanwhile most 2/2s are 2 drops that people will put out turn 2 and can't attack with turn 3.

I originally started with 4 Diregrafs, but was told "Diregraf Ghoul seems unusual, as your deck is too slow to threaten an effective clock in the early game, and she's an abysmal topdeck in the lategame. I would replace her with Moan of the Unhallowed , as it gives you fuel for Endless Ranks of the Undead."

My worry is being over-run early game by alot of the 1-2 drops that red/white/green have. Getting 1 or 2 out early and first turn helps speed up the deck so you won't get overrun by turn and can start bring. Yes, she's not that good late game, but her strength is allowing to get you to late game.

Running this deck, I'd be really worried about making it to late game. Yes, you will be good in late game, but you have to get there first.

I took Doom Blade and GFtT to 3, down from 4. I ripped out Unbreathing Horde and Endless Ranks of the Dead and in place of the 6 cards I took out, I added 4 Wring Flesh(s) and (although I've yet to get it to really pay off) 2 Army of the Damned(s)... Any better?

Ripping out the Endless Ranks was a good idea, but you have to put in 4 Unbreathing Hordes. The damage prevention makes it burn resistant (or burn proof if you combo it with something that give it at least +0/+1) and it makes a huge difference late in the game. I'd pull the 4 Wring Flesh, 3 Doom Blades, 1 Geth's Verdict and push the 2 Distress, 4 Geth's Verdicts to the sideboard and add 4 Unbreathing Hordes, 4 Gravediggers, 4 Diregraf Ghouls, 2 Ghoulcallers Chant.

The Diregraph Ghouls will help to lower your mana curve and give you a blocker in the early stages (so you can save some of those burn spells for later) and in the late stages it's another zombie for the swarm, but since it's a not a token and 1 CMC you can keep bringing it back.

You should add the Gravediggers for two reasons:
1) You can have two zombies on the field for 1-2 mana less then Moan of the Unhallowed's flashback cost (and it's combo that you can repeat over and over. Gravedigger + Diregraph Ghoul)
2) You can use it bring back a burn magnet...I mean Grave Titan and save the Ghoulcaller's for bouncing Zombies

As far as the Unbreathing Horde goes, giving you opponent the choice to block a Grave Titan, a 8/8 Unbreathing Horde, or 5 random 2/2 Zombie tokens = GG

I've been using the removal cards as a crutch so hard, that playing without seems impossible. That said, I'm going to give this a try tomorrow. I'm did my 1st tournament online with this deck and got 0-2 1st round :( Something has to change. Will let you know how it goes.
