I finished 3-4. It was pretty disappointing for me - the result of getting flooded and mana screwed six of my games. I kept track. I made a sideboard change of adding two Blind Obedience in the place of the Banishing Light and the Godsend. This was to help against Burn. The tournament was dominated by Burn and Jund Monsters - two decks I never saw. My games were:

B/G Dredge: 2-1
I tapped my creatures out game two not anticipating a Nighthowler giving him exactly lethal.

U/W Control: 1-2
I had no idea what he was playing game one. He kept a rough five card mull. Game two he came back from 1 life. Game three he came back from 2 life. He said he felt U/W was smoother than U/W/X. I guess?

R/U/G Monsters: 2-0
THIS is what I wanted to see. Monsters decks! This was a swift defeat. Ajani's Presence and game two Celestial Flare ate his Caryatids and I Banished whatever he tried to stabilize with.

U/W/R Control: 2-1
I like my matchup against control. Game three I played back-to-back Rootborn Defenses and Ajani's Presence with a Spirit of the Labyrinth in play. :)

Izzet Midrange: 0-2
What the heck?! Rogue deck, like mine. Keranos was a major problem, killing my guys for several turns after he had burned some of them early.

Brave Naya: 1-2
My mouth lost this one for me. I had to mulligan to five cards game three. I boarded in Celestial Flare to adapt to Naya's plan of Unflinching Courage against aggro decks. When I had a six card landless hand, I showed it to my opponent. He noticed that I had brought in Celestial Flare and then completely played around it after I drew my five. I would have won if he had fed his Fleecemane with Courage equipped to me, but he only ever double blocked or double attacked.

Golgari Devotion: 0-2
Mana screwed with him playing turn two Pack Rat each game.

I'll be taking this to the TCGPlayer 5K this weekend in Indy and will report back with the results.

Rakdos's Return is a bit awkward without ramp. I dunno. I say go Junk. Red is really only solving Blood Baron problems and Sphinx's Rev.

This deck is awkward with Noah's Ark-style card slots. How's it doing for you?

I would take out an Ajani, a Smiter, and Rootborn Defense for x4 Brave the Elements. Also if you're going the Aggro route, Mutavaults are good. Brave the Elements is good because the. Your guys are unblock able to finish the game out. Ajani is also a great finisher.

I would consider the following changes:

-1 Aqueous Form - I feel x4 is a little much.
-4 Righteous Authority - You don't really have that much draw. +7/+7 is nothing incredible assuming you ever got it to work.
-4 Rapid Hybirdization - Detention Sphere is just better and counts toward your Enchantment threshold for certain cards.
-2 Sphinx's Revelation - I think there is draw/life gain that is more synergistic with your deck than this. Ordeals, Astronomer, Hopeful Eidolon, Gift of Orzhova. They all show up earlier and do more for the deck, triggering heroic, adding toward Ethereal Armor, etc.
-1 Bident of Thassa - I think x1 is fine. The passive ability only works when you actually hit a player.
-2 Perplexing Chimera - Super expensive and weak stats.
-2 Thassa, God of the Sea - The Scry is nice/almost worth it, but you are unlikely to activate her.
-1 Daxos - The guy is Legendary and at x4 you'll draw him two or three times by turn three some games. You don't want that.

+2 Ethereal Armor - This is a bread and butter card.
+4 Meletis Astronomer - This will continually draw your bestow creatures.
+2 Ordeal of Thassa - This is a nice one to power up or draw 2 and put an additional power on the board.
+4 Detention Sphere - This deals with Pack Rats, Elspeth Soliders, etc.
+4 Hopeful Eidolon - This is a good 4 drop enchantment.
+1 Gift of Orzhova - This is a good 3 drop enchantment.

I still submit my previous suggestions. I think they make you a lot faster.

I mean, he's still a 4/4 with Haste and First Strike. That is nothing to snuff at. But, I think you're ending your curve too high and not playing aggressive-enough cards to close out your games.

Murder King might help you close the distance. Flame Jet smooths your draws, but Shock is better for removing blockers and still being able to cast stuff. You could just run Ogre Battledriver instead of Axava since you only have one other creature than Axava that gets +1/+1. I think both are over doing it. I'd scale down the mana costs and go for more aggression or go for a bit more control and set your curve a little higher on creatures. The list seems a little scatter-brained a the moment.

I figured I'd offer some background since YOU wanted to make my experience relevant to my advice. I figured you might as well know it. I have nothing to gain from my like 11-1 record in draft except lots of store credit (I turned in the packs). I won't gain or lose anything on this site. And you're right, I'm not going to go to any lengths to prove that I'm being honest about this so you can assume what you want (apparently that nothing I say is true). But if you want to assume that the accomplishments I listed are not true, why would you assume I'm being honest about being a new player?

I am typing these posts from my phone and I have autocorrect turned off because I frequently type in Anglicized Nepali. If I understand you, you're saying I'm trying to "look smart" by calling you out for ad hominem (which I allegedly can't spell) and this is reason for invalidating my response to your accusations?

This was a great suggestion! Experiment One fits perfectly into this deck since it's attempting to curve out on creatures.

You guys are committing ad hominen here… But if you want to know about me (maybe this will affect the validity of my advice?): I've played the game for a week and a half (since last Monday). During that time I've only played in three drafts. I won two of them and placed third in the other (one FNM and the other two Monday night drafts - I'm SURE you've BOTH won and/or placed top 3 in your past three visits to your card shop making your advice equal to mine?). The FLGS people here are not terrible - there are a couple of casual players, some scrubs, and some decent players who travel to tournaments and do well in them. Being good at limited doesn't necessarily translate into being good at constructed, so you got me there… except I'm the state champion in WoW TCG (very similar to MTG), have placed top 8 in several other card games' worlds and nationals, and generally do pretty well at competitive games.

Look, I can't help it that NinjaStyle took my original comment as a flame, as "telling someone they should net deck", as telling someone their deck was bad, as stifling creativity, and apparently as malicious (these are his accusations). I said the deck was strictly worse than just playing the best green cards or playing towards his devotion gimmick. This is true and it's not mean. I wouldn't say bad or good, just worse or better. Bad and good involve context and I have no idea what his competition is. I said he should either keep some of his less efficient cards, but include ones that further synergize toward his devotion gimmick or play better creatures/spells in each of his slots. That's a parallel statement to my first post. Why are you so against it?

ClockworkCopper, you added nothing with your comment. I don't think your first language is English or you're very young (this is not a flame; I really think that's apparent), so let me say this very clearly: Read my response to NinjaStyle. I am not flaming EDHGeneral. I offered help by saying pick a path, don't try to play two different decks at once. There is nothing wrong with leaving a comment that basically says: "I do not like this deck." However, that was not the point of my comments, anyway. You are doing the exact thing you're wrongly accusing me of. You're saying "I don't like your comment." to me. Does this make sense? Do you see how you are doing exactly what you're condemning at the same time?

I wonder if you will both cease and desist now? This isn't an ideal use of my time and probably not yours either.

I have no clue about net decking. I only homebrew and I've played the game for a total of a week and a half. You're misprepresenting me.. I'm saying this deck list isn't really accomplishing a green devotion deck or a green deck as far as I can tell and my recommendation is building either, not both at the same time.

I'm saying go ham or go home. Either play good green cards.dec or play janky green devotion, not this hybrid that is strictly worse than good green but trying to be it at the same time.

This doesn't seem gimmicky enough to be a fun deck and it's strictly worse than just playing solid green cards.

I agree with bootsncatsn about needing to be more aggressive. Here are my suggestions:

-4 Tormented Hero
+4 Firedrinker Satyr

-1 Thrill Kill Assassin, -2 Mizzium Mortars
+3 Blood Scrivener

-1 Swamp
-3 Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch
+4 Burning-Tree Emmisary

-2 Whip of Erebus
-2 Magma Jet
+4 Shock

-2 Dreadbore
+2 Tymaret, the Murder King
