Deck Description

Someday my girlfriend visited some of her friends (from which she had learned Magic) and they gave her a goblin commander deck to try out. She was fascinated by the little guys and asked me to built her a modern legal goblin deck she could use on our local tournaments. This is now her main deck and the one she loves the most.

Using "Krenko, Mob Boss" meant a massive attack so everything that helped to buff masses of goblins and to produce even more goblins was the first thing I looked into.
"Quest for the Goblin Lord" (First 4 of it, now a 2/2split with "Shared Animosity") and "Shared Animosity" take care of the weakness of those goblin tokens. Bof are enchantments so their not that easy to remove. "Goblin Bushwhacker" was also added more because of the haste, as "Goblin Chieftain" tends to get shot away rather fast, than of his +1/+0 bonus. "Goblin Wardriver" made the list of buff-spells (10) full.
When using masses of goblins "Mogg War Marshal" is always worth a look and so he was added. "Siege-Gang Commander" normally should be cheated in with "Warren Instigator", a hardcast is very rare.
"Infiltration Lens" and "Rogue's Gloves" where added to get some more ammunition as those cheap goblins tend to let you play your handcards very fast.
Last "Massive Raid", "Furystoke Giant" and "Purphoros, God of the Forge" serve as finisher.

We own all those cards and she has played this deck many times. We're open to all suggestions and ideas that may help to further improve this deck.

How to Play

Cheap goblins are the core of this deck. The cc1 and cc2 slots are the workhorses of this deck, though Warren Instigator can really speed up your play. I often thought about adding some "Aether Vials" to the deck, but in the end it proofed to be to expensive ($)
The cc3 and cc4 slots adds support, buffs and finishers. Krenko can really be a matchwinner, especially if the tokens are buffed and/ or get haste.
The only weak spot here might be carddraw, which is only available via "Infilatration Lens" and "Rogue's Gloves"

Deck discussion for MonoR: Goblins

I Changed some things recently:
-1 "Bloodmark Mentor" (I don't want to have 2 of them in my hand)
+1 "Furystoke Giant" (Finisher, combined with "Goblin Chieftain" and "Krenko, Mob Boss" he can be really ugly ;) )

Not bad.I would replace Bloodmark with Legion Loyalist in case you run into a token-heavy deck. I would also add goblin war strike.

Thank you for the idea, due to this I changed some numbers and creatures:
-4 Mogg Sentry
+4 Legion loyalist (Knew of him, but though that he was a cc3 ;) )
-1 Bloodmark Mentor (I don't want to relly only on the Loyalist to give my creatures first strike)
+1 Spikeshot Elder

"Goblin War Strike" won't fit into this deck, because I want to stay modern-legal.

Very nice! Legion Loyalist and Furystoke Giant are realy greate to win the game with massive attack. There is nothing to add, but mb u will need some instants like Lightning Bolt to kill an annoying creature or to finish an opponent. Red instants are the best, its hard to miss it.

Most decks utilize "Lightning Bolt" as removal.
Here "Spikeshot Elder" or "Goblin Grenade" do the job, and I wouldn't know what to take out for 3-4 Bolts.

Is there a reason for Aether Vial not being in your mainboard?

I know this deck was made before Theros came out. Your might consider the following two cards:
Purphoros could be worth taking a look at. In combination with Siege-Gang Commander especially.
Also Nykthos. That card is good in any monocoloured deck, incredible mana ramp.

A very simple (and silly) one: I don't have any free slots, and I don't know what I could remove to make some space for it ;)
As for "Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx", I think I won't need ramp in any form. The mana-costs are very low ("Siege-Gang Commander" is not supposed to be hardcast but brought into play with "Warren Instaigator") and even if it doesn't look like that, I work a great deal with tokens here (My opponents tend to shoot many goblins down, dont know why *g*) and those don't count towards devotion (cc0). I also don't have any 'pay X, deal X damage' spells in here.
"Purphoros, God of the Forge" is a nice card, could also give me another winoption, but it has the same mana-costs as Krenko, and furthermore, does nothing if he is alone on the field. I could try to replace "Furystroke Giant" with it, but that would require some test-games, I don't have the time for at the moment :(

Mouth (/ fingers) faster than Brain -> If I get the chance to do some testgames, I will give 1-2 Purphoros, "God of the Forge" and 2-3 "Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx" a try.
