Obvious mana ramp. Omnath is amazing for early game if you can get him equipped with hexproof and rancor. With his abilities youll be playing 8 drop monsters turn 5 without tapping any mana. You can also pump him full of mana and then use predators rapport on him to gain crap tons of life. Another good stratagey for this deck is to just get all your creatures on the field and play craterhoof, along with garruk.
