No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

THIS IS A PROXY DECK (now officially has been proxied, and was well worth the 7 pieces of printer paper)

Me and my friends were thinking about each making a Proxy deck with cards we will obviously never own nor play with otherwise.

This was my idea, and id love any feed back, im not too familiar with a lot of the older cards and I know there are more experienced players on this site that do know.

So please give me some ideas of what might run better in here

How to Play

The goal is obviously to have unlimited turns and win with phyrexian dreadnought being out with torpor orb.
Once I lock it up with either voltaic key or alphetto alchemist and Time Vault, its game over.

So far ive played one game with it, and let my friend play one game. My game had 1st turn lock up, and he quit as soon as Dreadnought hit the field on turn 3.

He won got the second turn lock up with my advice, wasn't familiar with the decks tools, as soon as he locked up the game, I quit.

Lets just say, it plays like a $20,000 deck should play. It officially made both mine, and his best decks, look like booster packs from walmart.

Things that will help if you want to stick with this win condition:
Stifle + Force of Will + Voltaic Key + Jace the WalletSculpter

Take a look at some tourny vintage decks, and emulate them. They are, of course, more limited than your deck, but they'll give you a good starting point. You're really missing out on an incredible amount of power that you now have access to, and even with the limitations on those decks, most of them will handily defeat yours. Since your friends are down to play, consider this a good opportunity to play some Vintage.

yea vintage looks like fun, I have a white control deck (prison V.3) and its only vintage legal, it looks pretty brutal. Ive never proxied a deck before so im not sure what to do right now, so many options.

Personally I've always loved doing..
T1: Mishra's Workshop > Time Vault > Voltaic Key. Tap Time Vault to take an additional turn
T2: Play a land, untap Time Vault using Voltaic Key. Take an extra turn.
Infinite turns!

That's pretty filthy, almost not fun, but awesome still :p

Hey, gives you time to defeat them in the most embarrassing manner imaginable * cough cough TIBALT*. Besides, whatever you want the rest of the deck to do it can lol. I've played with this a lot tbh :P

actually you cant get infinite turns with your T1 example. I would need another mana source to activate voltaic key that turn. mishras gives me three mana, Timevault and Voltaic Key = 3 mana. But I could also have a black lotus or mox out so its still cool :p

You don't need to untap it turn one because time vault doesn't come into play tapped. you just tap time vault when it comes in and you take an extra turn. You would untap time vault during the extra turn and then retap it for another extra turn.

yes it does, at the bottom it literally says, "time vault begins tapped"

Sorry for rage, but I checked his comments page and saw that he copy/pasted over 20 identical comments onto different decks.

Nice, My friends group (hey relemin) has been discussing doing something similar lately. I also agree with relemin on the time vault + voltaic key combo. it's cheaper and you don't have to deal with pesky summoning sickness. On a side note, my favorite deck of all time was Randy Beuhler's Memory jar deck. I would proxy it if I had the chance. If you're interested in it you can check it out under my decks. It also lists the deck's strategy in the description.

A little bit to the top, under the deck legality it has an option called "Proxy Deck" click + print my friend.

I like that idea - making a proxy deck of crazy cards. Might have to try that some time. As for this list, phyrexian dreadnought seems like a really solid finisher to me, I don't think that needs to be changed. A counterspell or two to protect your stuff might not be a bad idea if you find room. Just seems kinda vulnerable at the moment

If you haven't looked at "Force of Will" I would. It is probably the best counter magic that I've seen. Especially since your group is going restriction-free. It allows you to counter turn 0 so you can hopefully keep one of your friends from turn 1 or 2 killing you in case either they go first or you don't have your time vault combo.

Also, I would consider taking chrome mox out for a lotus petal. You might have to sacrifice it and not be able to use it continuously, but it's more reliable on turn one and 2 because you don't have to discard anything.

yea I thought about lotus petal, I really wanted something that stays on the field though, especially if im going to only run 12 mana. I might put it in anyway though, thanks for the thought. What do you think about sol ring?

Sgould I replace counterspell with force of will?

0

Yeah the counterspell replace is what I would have gone with. Sol ring is nice, but it's whatever ends up running better. If you play with it and end up needing more colored mana you may not want it, but it may run great.

What do you have agaisnt mill for defense , if there spoil the combo ?

0

Force of will should be saved for the opponent's win condition, but unless he's up against a turn 1 mill deck it shouldn't matter. If you're referring to him miling himself, he should have his opponent killed before that matters... he has 53 turns to do it.

yea im not really too concerned with any deck that doesn't use these mechanics. This literally is ridiculous. My defense is that you don't get a turn. if it takes me 30 turns to get phyrexian out with torpor orb, then it takes me thirty turns. But you will sit there and watch me take thirty turns and then lose. Of course the odds of me taking 30 turns to do so is highly unlikely. Between tinker and ancestral recall, getting what I need isn't difficult. Ive been able to play ancestral recall twice on turn 1, and then was able to lock up unlimited turns all on turn one. Its really hard to get a bad hand. Its not perfect but god dammit, it must be about as close as it gets.

Go with 4 Jace the mind sculptor. And toss in 4 snapcaster and Wurmcoil engine. With the lotus and sapphire you won't have a problem getting most of that out turn 1 Vendilion clique is fun too. Sideboard surgical extraction to fish out any dirty cards of your friends. But since its a proxy deck just have some fun. Here is what I think you should do.
4- maze of Ith 16-island 4-Wurmcoil 4-Snapcaster 4-Force 4-Mana drain 4-Time walk 4-Ancestral Recall 4-Pact of negation 4-Black lotus 4-mox sapphire 4-Jace. You can turn 1 wurmcoils-dirty and you get turn one jace. Snapcaster comes out as a body and a way to flashback card draw with ancestral recall or take more extra turns with time walk still making it fun of course because there is a chance you won't get 5 turns in a row :p and your friends are gonna be ticked because you have so much counter and they can't do a thing about it:)
