Deck Description

Win with patience and drawing out your opponents deck.

Wheel of Sun and Moon, and Elixir of Immortality prevent and ruin milling.
Wheel can also be used to stop an opponent from self milling, scavenging and reanimating.
Elixir also keeps refreshing my library to keep me from drawing out my own deck.

Use Howling Mine to speed up the draw

Leyline Of Sanctity for defense against burn decks or other spells doing harm

Path to Exile, Swords to Plowshares on Isochron Scepter for creature removal
Oblivion Ring for more removal

Runed Halo for any permanent out that I cant touch with removal

Enlightened Tutor for everything I need

Thoughts, ideas, comments, all welcomed!

How to Play

The goal of this deck is to last until an opponent draws his or herself out. Its only offense is shutting down all other offences, giving it the best defense at the same time. Of course it has its weaknesses, but I would have to say this has far more strengths than weaknesses. If I find my opponent going straight instant and sorcery and light on creatures, I swap out Path to Exile and Swords to Plowshares with Orims Chant and Silence. If I find my opponent going very aggro creature heavy, I remove Leyline Sanctity and put in Planar Collapse.

On the bright side, your opponent will probably quit before you make him draw out his whole deck, so you don't have to wait all day

Earliest lock up possible

T1: Leyline of Sanctity, Plains, Elixir of Immortality
T:2 Plains, Isochron Scepter with Path to Exile ( or wheel of sun and moon if vs mill)
T:3 Situational play, either use Iso Scepter, or play Wheel of Sun and Moon, or Runed Halo
After that..
Start playing enlightened tutors to get Howling Mines out, or more Iso Scepters then just sit back and watch

Etc....

Deck discussion for The Anti-Everything Deck

Great for preventing your opponents from winning and all...but I really don't see how it will let you win. One single gladecover scout or slippery bogle and boom-you lose.

well elixir of immortality will give me 5 life which is potentially five turns of those creatures attacking, plus extortion on my side which will turn for turn counter them, while they lose life and continue drawing cards. you make a good point though, if they are using buffs on a hexproof creature then yea I could be in trouble.

Fair enough; I suppose you could draw them out, though any good mill deck would be able to counter whatever elixirs they can't mill. As for hexproof, Wrath of God would work. Or you could splash black with Barter in Blood/Innocent Blood.

I added aurification, so those little hexproof guys become walls now :p thanks man

Just saw that. Not a 100% block, but it definitely forces your opponents to rethink their attack strategy. Good add.

I like that but I don't see the room for it, do you?

There's a problem with what you're planning to do.

Several, actually.

First, you only have one extort card, and to make the most of it, you're needing to have something to target with your instants. If your opponent is playing a creature-low deck, you'll not be able to trigger the extort at will. That is one of the reasons that creatures and other spells do very well in extort decks.

Second, you're planning on investing cards such as Howling Mine that are dedicated to giving you and your opponents cards. You need to be able to take advantage of that, and the only thing you have in the deck that gives you any semblance of card advantage is your Isochrons. As soon as your opponent starts tricking you and getting 2 for 1 or even 3 for 1 on his cards, you'll start to really feel strain. You're dependent on card advantage through your scepters. Anything else just goes 1-for-1 with your opponent. I play a creature, you remove it. I put 3 tokens in to play, and you'll be in a world of hurt.

And you can't deal with hexproof/shroud at all

With this in mind, it is possible to improve your deck, but you need to focus on threats other than creatures. Very few people play one unprotected creature every turn and nothing else.

Focus on cards that allow you to build board advantage in more ways than just exiling a single creature. Wrath of God is a good start. perhaps Armageddon. White is known for having powerful sweepers. Cards like Oring or pithing needle can help shut down cards that your deck can't currently deal with (combo decks, or decks that win through artifact/enchant control). Giving yourself hexproof isn't enough. Consider other means of protecting yourself, such as Story Circle or Runed Halo. You can also gear up to deal with tokens: Moat-type effects can be strong, Norn's annex, Ghostly Prison etc can both buy you time and hinder the mass-production of tokens. If you want to win via extort, find cards that you always want to play, such as Silence or Orim's Chant, cards that shut your opponent down, and give you a boost. If you're playing in a slow meta, consider other ways to increase your card draw. Well of lost Dreams can be huge with extort, and allows you to draw with every spell you extort.

If you open yourself up to green and/or blue, you improve your options, and get to include a whole bunch of hatebears.

There are a LOT of things in the magic universe you need to deal with other than single creatures, mill, and burn. You can't protect yourself against everything, but you can improve your protection beyond what it is right now. Keep in mind that you have a 15-card sideboard to use in most cases to put things that you might need, but don't want to run every time.

Extorts secondary. Plus I could have 4 of them out, allowing 4 extortions. and even if I don't have creatures to target with spells to extort, iso scepter, howling mines, witchbane orb, blind obedience and elixir of immortality are all still spells which I can extort. I know the spells you said I should use, but I have made decks like those ones, I have a white control deck made on here. I was going for something different, something slow, painful and annoying. While it wont win every game, under a lot of circumstances it will. Most decks do have creatures in it, that people rely on for their game plan whether its a creature based deck or not.

But I do admit that against a high speed goblin deck or a hexproof creature deck, im going to be in trouble. I might look to adding some more control into the deck such as Scepter Of Dominance.

I really appreciate your comment, I know this isn't tournament worthy, but im not playing in them anyway lol
Thanks again, il look further into control

I think Aurification will take care of anything that I cant touch, or if im overwhelmed. thanks again!

@DJ because that's kind of what posting decks on this site is for. Hell, I wish people would write college essays on my decks more. Things will be unloved week after week without a single comment.

Agreed sir, I love when I get these big comments, this guy actually looked at my deck and spent all that time to help me improve it. and looking at the deck now, he definitely did. Although he could like the deck, that might make me happier too lol :p but yea this deck looks insanely piss off right now

Tossed witchbane for Leyline of Sanctity, tossed Blind Obedience and added Wheel of Sun and Moon for ultimate milling protection, and added Runed Halo. So no more extort, its just pure survival until my opponent draws out

ghost prison and stuff like that force your opponents to pay mana to attack with each creature

0

oh, no I thought about ghostly prison, unless im restricting spell and land usage like with winter orb or static orb, an opponent paying mana will eventually not be a problem for him/her. Good thought though

You might want to think about some protection for those enchantments, a single Tempest of Light can wipe them out...
other than that, great deck!
Oh, and also, if you are going to wait until they draw out, why not pair up Archive Trap with Path to Exile? Those two cards are quit amazing together.
Good luck! :)

ohhh I actually really like that idea... I want to see if I can squeeze it in somewhere. what do you think about me adding Greater Auramancy? Elspeth is the best one I can find, but not very reliable for an 8th turn use at the earliest

Greater auramancy would be great against Naturalize. :D
