i think you need gargantuam gorilla in here, you need some power, all you have to do is sac a forest -4 monkey x3 (cause he is joke card) totally awsome card but u no -2 gruul signet dont need red -2 zodiac monkey cause not everyone you play has forests +4 gargantuam gorilla +2 cultivate +2 rampant growth or explosive vegetation

what does verdant catacombs do?
tap sac, pay 1 life put a forest or a swamp from your deck onto the battlefield it thins out your deck and is even good in a mono colored deck before you make any points

I'd still splash red for Kird Ape. Guaranteed 2/3 for R is great, and red lets you splash for Lightning Bolts too (plus if gives you an excuse to run a couple Simian Spirit Guides). You wouldn't even need Mountains, just some of the cheaper dual lands that tap for green or red (like karplusan forest).
good idea, naic, take out stuff that take a lot of mana (in this deck a lot is about 5 lol) i would recamend keeping gargantuam gorilla but if you have to get rid of something it would be him or a silverback ape i guess
I second Hidden Gibbons. Adaptive Automaton will make a good pseudo monkey lord as well.

never knew there were so many monkeys... its kinda nice that they aren't too overpowered but you can still kill with them. I would love to see a monkey vs squirrel duel!
Overwhelming Stampede/Overrun. Win Condition right there. Don't even have to worry about individual apes having trample.
