Artful Dodge, from my own esper colored exalted, is a cheap way to get a critter thru twice.
Also you are missing a card, your only at 98.
Wait a minute were have I seen this deck before...
From the Comprehensive Rules: 205.4e Any permanent with the supertype “snow” is a snow permanent. Any permanent that doesn’t have this supertype is a nonsnow permanent, regardless of its name. Snow mana The snow mana symbol Manas.gif represents a cost that can be paid with one mana produced by a snow permanent. This is a generic mana cost that can be paid with any color or, or colorless, mana. Effects that reduce the amount of generic mana you pay don’t affect Manas.gif costs.
Snow is not a colored mana symbol, nor will any other alignment based mana symbol be. The rule is there to put limits on the amount of colors you can run, not basic land subtypes. Phyrexian mana is colored, so it obeys the rules of normal colored mana.
Dude you have more Fetch Lands and Pain Lands than you do Basic Lands, 16 to 10. If you are running Pain Lands, drop all of the Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanses. I would run 16-18 Swamps and fill in the Pain Lands to 20 to 22 Lands total.

Why Jace over Venser? Use Venser to bounce stonehorn? Or you can protect stonehorn by o-ring, then use Venser to bounce to the o-ring during your turn, causing stonehorn to tigger then he disappears when o-ring returns.
Sorry Joe!, wrong page tab! didnt mean to steal any of your thunder.
Holy Snikey!, I haven't been on in month or so. Now I got to go read all the comments. Thanks to all of you for posting and the likes!
mostly control of some type, valakut every now and then. The only ones that tend to play aggro are the teenagers up there, mainly because none of them have jobs.
Sadly no, I haven't shared the same experience. I do agree that first strike is useful, however.
Gatekeepers came in handy a bit better than Hexmage for the most part. With the removal I was able to pull off early game, if they managed to get a creature out turn 3 or 4 it become subject of the Gatekeeper kicked. After he served his purpose he would get sacked to Seer and Highborn. With hexmage I had to wait most of the time with her in hand, she never really saw much play. Tezz and Jace never stayed on the field long due to lightning bolts and arc trails, and of course sad sacs. Of course my meta on the low end of FNM is different than your at PTQ's and SCGO's

Hey Joe, This looks good. I just played with B/R Vamps at Game Day yesterday and took 2nd. I only lost to Tezz control (1-2), but it was a close match. I have 3x Sadistic Sac in my side deck which helped rip tezz and big jace out. I will post my later on today if you want to take a look.
Holy crap, sorry dude I didnt even know how much the card is going for. I have four because i gain a collection of cards from a guy at work.
Gaea's Cradle
dude thats pretty great idea!
I understand how the combo with shape anew works, but I am a bit concerned with your lack of any other artifact besides the chalice. If you draw blightsteel too early he will be sitting in your hand for a while and won't be able to use shape anew, even if you draw 1 or 2 shape anew. Or it could be a while before you get the chalice in your hand to use shape anew. the good side to shape blightsteel is his return to the library from the grave yard. It presents a bit of a riddle. Trinket mage is one answer for it. Just feels like a risk to me, but I am still new at the game. Have you happen to have seen this deck used in a tournament by chance? If you can get your hands on some fetch lands like misty rainforest and verdant catacombs they can help thin out your deck a little. I personally would drop Jwar Isle Refuge because a) it comes in tapped and b) it doesn't let you look at cards like halimar depths. When making my blue black control they warned me of too many lands that come in tapped or have a great risk of being tapped, so i want to pass that bit of info along. Another bit of advice I got was to sideboard Black Sun's Zenith and get consume the meek and consuming vapors in the main deck. If you would like check out my U/B control and let me know what you think. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=144545
