its a little of both like my first izzet
Put in the cards Izzet Guildmage, Desperate Ritual, and Lava Spike. when Izzet Guildmage is in play cast Lava Spike and splice onto arcanedesperate ritual the use Izzet Guildmage to copy Lava Spike. Since Desperate Ritual's effect is included in Lava Spike when you copy Lava spike with Izzet Guild you will also get 3 mana and you can do this forever.

i think you should run time warp and compulsive research maybe not compulsive research but you might want a draw engine cryptic command is a really good card all around but in this deck i think it would be awsome the mana base of this deck is not very good i think you should run scaldindg tarn, cascade bluffs, and steam vents but i wouldn't know much about this deck since i've never seen it be played before
ill probably put in the cryptic commands it is awesome and as for the lands i would add those but they are pretty expensive thanks it helps :)
