how many 4 and 4?

0

Probably. Also some duress wouldn't hurt. Maybe 2-4 of those. A first turn duress followed by a second turn hymn will cripple most people.

what about sinkhole

1

Sure. That'd be nasty. And rishadan port and wastelands.

hmmm i like it the only thing is you really need the colored mana on turn one, but its a possibility i might go with two ports and 22 lands or somthing what do you think

1

two ports and two wastelands or something. Land control isn't easy to get.

I would put two more Wasteland in, one Rishadan Port, and put in 4 Underground Sea, 7 Swamp and 5 Island.

But the deck isn't nearly as big as it should be. Besides, you need land.

maze of ith also demonic tutor and lets be dicks and add a playset of the P9

0

Lol. I made a deck with a mox jet in it on here and was roundly booed. Apparently, people dont take kindly to suggestions of that nature.

I've always liked the Maze of Ith in combination with Argothian Elder to get infinite mana. Also works well with Gelectrode. Or you could use something like Upwelling or Sakura-Tribe Springcaller to build up a massive store of mana to cast your opponent into oblivion in one turn.

ill go with watery graves but i only like those fetchlands if im running brainstorm which could be a possibility. so DOES ANYONE WANT TO RUN BRAINSTORM

0
Posted 11 March 2012 at 04:39

I'm going to say definitely run Brainstorm, Ponder, Jace 2.0, and other library manipulation cards. We could have a Counterbalance stall deck!

Love the price of this deck. ;D "Low: $1,166.81 Mid: $1,359.80 High: $1,755.43"

yea i think that you would actually need more to kill your opponent than just those two cards because it would take a while to actually kill them with the two cards

0

what is your suggestion

0
Posted 11 March 2012 at 06:28

needs more brainstorm for a counterbalance deck. and if we want the win-con to be jitte + bitterblossom, i would go a more esper route and include playsets of brainstorm, jace 2.0, and stoneforge mystic.

0
Posted 11 March 2012 at 09:34

also needs tundra if you want to go that route

0
Posted 11 March 2012 at 09:37

well that dosnt have to be the only win condition jace 2.0 was also suggested do you have any other thoughts for a win con?

0
Posted 11 March 2012 at 16:09

counterbalance should allow you to win with jace, thats really the only win con you need

Wait a second... You said we can suggest anything because it's not restricted by formats (I assume by that you don't mean we can run more than 4 of any card of course, because if that was the case then just 60 Chancellor of the Dross. Kills before the game even starts :P). Well, here's my list (I decided to go for red, blue, and black):

*Artifacts
4 Lion's Eye Diamond
4 Black Lotus
4 Mox Jet
4 Mox Sapphire
4 Mox Ruby
4 Lotus Petal
1 Mox Opal

*Spells
2 Lightning Bolt
1 Lava Spike
1 Banefire
4 Time Twister
4 Vampiric Tutor
4 Demonic Tutor
4 Mystical Tutor
4 Force of Will
4 Brainstorm
4 Ancestral Recall
3 Preordain

The deck looks like just a bunch of tutoring spells, but the idea is to Lightning Bolt/Lava Spike the opponent, then play Time Twister and sac the Black Lotuses, Lotus Petals and Lion's Eye Diamonds you have out to float a lot of mana and use your tutoring spells to keep doing it. You can quite easily pull first turn wins out of the bag with this deck. :)

sink hole is so irrelevant here. basically you have a legacy deck, and unless your game plan is bent on trying to destroy theirs, sink hole is really only setting you both back. You waste a card slot and a turn trying to destroy a land, they get set back a turn (same as you).
Umm... demonic tutor isn't exactly legacy, but you could easily make it legacy by removing it, and adding 3 more brainstorm. Which make counterbalance better, too.
Jace should be a 2-3 of.
bitterblossom and jitte seem off, here. I mean, I love them both, but I think in this deck you'd be better off just splashing green for goyf and sylvan library than to try and go to jitte/bb route.

you deff need min. 20 land.
no fow? no daze D:

come on, community. you're running blue, D:

With as much draw as you have, I'm tempted to suggest Niv Mizzet, but he might be a bit costly for this deck. I concur with Ethan about the Jitte being a bit off in here.

Why the anti-red spells in the board? Is red by itself going to be that much of a threat? Or can those slots go to something that effects a wider range?

I'll admit, Legacy is not my field. :/ Counterbalance looks strange to me when the majority of the cards are 1-2cc, but I'm not knowledgeable about what you'd be facing. This deck looks fairly brutal to me, though. Why Mana Leak before Counterspell? Color dependency?

most of the cards in legacy are in the 1-2 range, also this isnt a great matchup vs red but once a chill hits the board its good game. and this is a community deck so not everything is under my control. I am very stuck between counterspell and mana leak on one hand being able to play some form of counterspell on t2 is really important, and the counterspells early game are the most important. On the other hand counterpsell is just flatout better playing counterspell in a 3 color deck is a bit sketchy. Do you have any sideboard suggestions?

Our win condition can be Frost Titan. That doesn't see enough use in my opinion.

its a fun card but its pretty terrible in legacy and has bad synergy with dark confidant

0
Posted 15 March 2012 at 00:04

Well you can use Lim-Dul's Vault for its synergy with the Divining Top, then imprint it on Isochron Scepter so you always Counterbalance. Maybe Oona, Queen of the Fae could be the win condition instead?
