Deck Description

So.... I've always hated simic. I never really got the point. But once I put this together, I believe in their power. This is one of my more consistent decks, so let me know what I can do to fix it up. Good combo's good synergy.

How to Play

The deck is not hard to play at all.
Turns 1-3: you can be aggressive or defensive depending on the matchup.

1) Cloudfin 2)Young Wolf/Strangleroot Gheist + Rapid hybridization -- 3) Rancor - If you want to be aggro. This will give you 5/4 Cloudfin 2/2 Young Wolf and a 3/3 Ready to swing on turn 3.

1)Cloudfin -- 2)Young Wolf/Strangleroot Gheist --- Zameck Guildmage -- Defensive. Block with young wolf and take off his token for card draw and a potential infinite blocker. This will also get you a 2/3 Flying blocker for the first couple turns.

Turn 4-5: This is where it gets interesting with our combo's/ synergy.
Wild Defiance + Bioshift//(Simic charm)
If you have a Wild defiance and a Bioshift you will probably win. Especially if you have Elusive Krasis/Cloudfin on the field. Bioshift will trigger wild defiance's ability on two different creatures. Thats +6/+6 for 1 B or G mana!! And that doesnt even take into account you moving counters from one onto an unblocked creature. What if I have no +1/+1 counters you ask? Oh, easy, you don't have to transfer any +1/+1 counters because of the wording of Bioshift, just target two creatures!! Simic charm serves the same purpose, but targets only one creature. Give it to someone thats unblocked for +6/+6. T_T

Master Biomancer
Great Card! Block with Young Wolf and Biomancer. Give Biomancer +3/+3 with Simic charm. Wolf dies but comes back as a 7/7 (or 10/10 with wild defiance) evolving your smaller guys that much more. Biomancer on the field? Fathom mage for a 3/3 draw 2 for 4 CMC. Biomancer on the field but they have chump blockers? Simic Charm + Elusive Krasis = a 5 mana 5/9 unblockable.

Progenitor Mimic
So if I have 1 Biomancer on the field he is a 2/4. If i summon a second one he comes into play as a 4/6. The next one I summon is an 8/10. After that 16/18!! Why not be able to guarantee (with one card) an extra biomancer every turn?

Deck discussion for Forever Young 50$ Standard

I love simic and this is just another great example of why its so awesome! Great job on the deck. everything is on the low side as far as converted mana costs so you can move fast!

Thanks, And i really like that you can blow your low cost cards like Undying wolf, be aggressive then use him to draw a card with the guildmage to get more spells. Then use the wolf to continue to chump block/ be aggressive especially with rancor

1) Cloudfin 2)Young Wolf/Strangleroot Gheist + Rapid hybridization

This will give you a 2/3 Cloudfin, dude...When you cast hybridization, the frog will enter, then u will have young wolf, so he wont activate the evolve, since cloudfin already evolved to a 2/3

And you should protect yourself. Negate, essence scatter, dispel, syncopate! You wont use aetherling here either, you can drop it from your sideboard...

Since you control both triggered abilities, you choose the order in which the triggered abilities in question go on the stack. You control Young Wolf, so when Rapid Hybridization destroys it, you'll be the one who puts a token onto the battlefield. This happens as part of Rapid Hybridization's effect, so this will trigger evolve once, as well as the Young Wolf's undying. If you choose to have undying resolve before evolve, a 2/2 Young Wolf will enter the battlefield, triggering evolve again for the still 1/2 Cloudfin Raptor (this would go on the stack above the first evolve trigger). Then, assuming no responses from your opponent, both evolve abilities will resolve and result in a 3/4 Cloudfin Raptor.

You are right about aetherling though. Useless for this deck. Its mostly filler because I have no idea what I should put in the sb.

When u cast Rapid hybridization doesnt both of its abilities trigger at the same time?

??? Triggered abilities go on a stack they cant happen at the same time. If you control all the triggered abilities you can choose the order you want them to go on the stack. (assuming the other player has no response)

This is a level 2 judge's response to the cloudfin + Young Wolf + Rapid Hybridization question.

No worries. I was pretty sure it happened the way I thought, but its good to be sure and know exactly why it happens that way.
