Deck Description

This deck is my third remake of this deck, and I think this is the one I will finally stick with. It is meant for casual play, and yes I know that it is 67 cards, it is something I do with all my decks.

Aegis of the Gods- protect against enemy spells like thoughtseize and lightning bolt.

Courser of Kruphix- this serves many purposes- the first is to get more land, which is helpful late game when you want to use hellion's ability or underworld coin smith's. Also helps to pull the land off the top of your deck so your draws are more useful.

Eidolon of Blossoms- this tends to be one of the most useful cards in this game. The reason I only have 2 is because when I play with three or four I tend to get 2 of them on the battlefield, and I draw so many cards I'm constantly discarding. This helps to cycle through the deck a lot.

Heliod, God of the Sun- activated ability- triggers abilities of a lot of other cards

Herald of the Pantheon- helps you play more spells per turn, as well as life gain

underworld coin smith- ability to suck your opponents life away as well as the life gain

Aspect of Gorgon- the unflinching courage/ethereal armor/aspect of gorgon combo

Ethereal Armor- the combo mentioned above as well as its just an all around amazing card in this deck

sigil of the empty throne- gets you lots of angels with flying that you can use to kill your opponent if you're struggling to kill them from the ground

Silkwrap- a cheap enchantment that can remove annoying stuff

Sphere of Safety- early game this makes it fairly hard for your opponents to attack with more than one creature per turn (and it still has a hefty cost) and late game it makes it almost impossible

Stab wound- makes powerful stuff less powerful while sucking the life out of your opponent

suspension field- removal as well as its a cheap enchantment

unflinching courage- the unflinching courage/ethereal armor/aspect of gorgon combo as well as this is just a really good aura to begin with

How to Play

The idea of this deck is to stall until you can get a victory condition. Some of the ways you can stall are aegis of the gods, which prevents you from taking burn damage as well as preventing other spells that may target you. This combined with sphere of safety, which makes it almost impossible to attack you, makes you almost indestructible. There are multiple ways, and the first and my personal favorite involves a three card "combo." Equip any of your creatures with aspect of gorgon, unflinching courage, and ethereal armor. This gives you a large (from play testing anywhere from 8/10 to 14/16) creature with first strike, death touch, and trample. This means that your opponent is forced to block with at least a number of creatures equal to your creature's power before assigning any damage at all (since the deathtouch + trample will assign exactly 1 dmg to each blocking creature, and the first strike will kill it before it has time to deal dmg back to it). Another way to win is to use sigil of the empty throne to amass a large supply of fliers to kill your opponent. The final way to win is to use underworld coin smith's ability, use all the life you have gained from it and herald of the pantheon and then use all your extra mana to just suck the life out of your opponent (but also you, so you have to be careful.)

Deck discussion for Abzan Enchantment 3

Hi Nerddude345,

You like having fun with enchantments? Me too.

So where is your Argothian Enchantress and Aura Gnarlid?

Second Sunrise probably is better than Open the Vaults especially if you play with some one sided graveyard removal like Relic of Progenitus.

I know you like to play with 65 cards, but all the math wizards say 60 cards is best. If you really want to improve the deck cut to 60. If your fear being decked play Gaea's Blessing.

May you always make your own luck.

Thanks for the comment! Honestly I just don't like having 60 cards, I feel like it limits my options, and since I don't play all that seriously, I don't mind the deck being a little worse if my deck has all the options I like to play with. I'm not running Aura Gnarled because there's not a ton of auras, most of the enchantments in this deck are either creatures or just enchantments, but I do like its block ability. Argothian Enchantress is a little out of my price range, I like to keep my decks under $50. Also I was actually planning on cutting Open the Vaults, because what I'm finding through play testing is that this deck is really really powerful late game, but isn't surviving past the first few turns. Rn I'm looking for more early game cards.
