Deck Description

Once upon a time, we had the old Zendikar vamps. They were quick, clean, and vicious, with a win by turn 4/5. And everyone loved them for it.

But those days are gone. A new bloodline of more sophisticated vampires have come. They are well-established in Innistrad, and are ruthless in their submission of enemies. They can, and will, stick around for some late-game beat-down. Not only do they clean house, they get more powerful when they do!

Powerful creature + Getting Bigger = Death (of you). Sorry.

PLEASE COMMENT AND MAKE THIS BETTER. I WANT THIS TO BE MY GO-TO DECK FOR THE NEXT YEAR.

Sideboard explanation:

3x Doom blade to swap out with GFTT in case of an artifact-creature-heavy deck

3x ancient grudge to take out anything from trepanation blade to a mythic sword to Inkmoth nexus.

3x Curse of Death's Hold and 3x Rubling Temblor to take out those annoying G/W Token decks or any kind of infect deck (most infect decks run low P/T combos to kill quickly so these should wipe them out). I would drop the Automatons and Stalked Preys to make room as my safety is more important than boosts against a big threat.

3x Elixir of Immortality to stop those annoying zombie mill decks BUT it only works if i draw it not if it gets milled. If i does get milled, i haul ass and kill them asap.

Deck discussion for The New Bloodline Version 1.0

drop a bloodline keeper for the last stromkirk noble. you really need the full set of that one-drop, especially since a lot of the aggro decks out there are human based. looks good otherwise

well i really like bloodline's alter ego. Hes one of the best lords ive ever seen. +2/+2 is awesome, pluse he gives 4/4 creatures with flying. Ur rite about Stromkirk, tho, i mite drop a Crossway.

I agree with taking out Crossway. I have a pretty darn successful vamp deck I've run at a couple tournaments. Haven't yet missed top 8. I highly recommend considering "Arc Trail", that card is an amazing addition to any aggro based deck, and I run it in my vampires. which you are more than welcome to look at and take ideas.

ok i like arc trail especially to take out 2 small targets. Plus i just found Bump in the Night, which is an awesome 1 drop to start them out at 17 and can come back for a sneak attack later on in the game if i've got some spare mana.

I am also going to put together a red/black deck, so looking at yours is cool. I'd be curious to know how yours plays. It appears it would be pretty aggressive, but also allow some ping in case it stalls out. Also, how do the Blackcleave Cliffs work for you? I have been holding off getting a set since the comes into play tapped function seems like a real downer. Is it?

Good luck!

ps. my red/black will be more burn based, maybe even creatureless!

The tapped function is slightly annoying, which is y there r only 2, but if i get 1 in my starting hand, having the flexibility to always have the right color is really good (Falkenrath Noble or Bump in the Night anyone?). Dragonskull summit is a better card, but having 6 either-way cards helps.

If u want entirely burn B/R, Charmbreaker Devils is a great card, and run a few of the new Chandra. A few highly recommended cards r Bump in the Night, Arc Trail, Incinerate, Devil's Play, and Geistflame

I like the low mana curve. I play a legacy black vampire deck and it's a lot higher for mine. I might suggest a caged sun to go with the Bloodline keepers so you can get a bit faster and youll spawn 5/5s.

hmmmm i like the idea, but i dont know what to take out. I like how everything can work and how i can take out some stuff for SB and not damage the heart of the deck, but i think the cards i have r better than CAged Sun. but it is a good card and thx for the tip.

Very nice vamp deck :D I'd drop the bloodhalls tho for basic mana, I can't see how 5 mana for 2 damage will make a difference.

I'd maybe drop a bump in the night for another Adaptive as well.. :D

ur rite Bloodhall is very expensive (actually 6 mana cuz i have to tap Bloodhall too) for only 2 damage to a player (not even a creature), but if i stagnate and start just drawing lands, it's a good thing just to spend the mana on if i cant do anything else. They r the worst of the innistrad buff lands, but it is worth having them in here to waste mana. The only time Basic lands would have the edge is if i draw only 2 lands, the bloodhalls, but i would just mulligan to get more lands.

And Bump is one of my new favorite cards. Its a great 1 drop to get the ball rolling, and its a great surprise finisher if my creatures bring them down to only like 2 health. They accept it, thinking they can kill me on their turn, and then BOOM look out u die. Automaton is a cool card, but his only bonus of +1/+1 looks meager when all my creatures grow anyways. The only card i would consider dropping would b a Curse of Prey, but the curse gives +1/+1 over and over again instead of just the one. But thanks for the input.

Hi all. Could you look at this interesting inexpensive idea for standard? It abuses Precursor Golems. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=269833

I really like this deck, its risky but would Heartless Summoning make it a lot faster. You would have to switch out a couple of Vampires like Noble. It could make it interesting especially if you're guys keep getting bigger? Something to think about.

i honestly don't know. Heartless+Adaptive is a great combo, as they cancel out. Dropping a Stalked, Noble, and Heir mite b worth it, but i would have to run it a few times.

Let me know how Heartless works out. This seems like a great FNM deck.
