Deck discussion for Chill of the Grave

nice. my only suggestion is -3 horrifying revelation and add counterspells, but that is just a personal preference. can you look at my uw control?

I agree that this needs more counterspells, but it might benefit from +2 spellskite too -2 pm. Just my opinion.

Hi! I'm commenting on the decks posted on the "Advertise!" page. ( http://tinyurl.com/3blvgy6 ) Return the favor by commenting on any of my decks and/or the other advertised decks.

The milling subtheme here seems a little out of place, given you have titans as your win condition. Perhaps replace Jace's Erasure and Horrifying Revelation with counterspells & targeted discard? I'm liking how well this fits the theme but stays an effective control deck.

The only thing I can think of is add at least 3 Royal Assassin. It would be a good combo with Frost Titan, and take out the Onyx Mage. :)

I liked that idea/the synergy so I added the Assassins in. Kind of playing with the idea of Snapcaster Mages also.

Thanks!

Also, if you want more tapdown, tumble magnet is really good. You could easily replace the spellskite with those.

Also, what are you using crypoplasm for? Not sure that is exactly needed in this deck. If you are wanting to put snapcaster mage in the deck then I think that's what you should take out.

Cryptoplasm works beautifully in this deck. I can copy one of my titans. I can copy a spellskite. I can copy a wall. I can copy an enemy flyer (since this deck has no way to deal with flyers, if I fail to counter it), I can copy an enemy badass, I can copy enemy Legendaries and make them die, etc etc.

Cryptoplasm is one of the last cards I would remove from this deck. And I say that because having played this deck several times already, they work wonderfully.

Nice deck, now that Innistrad is out I think I would drop the Horrifying Revelations and replace them with Grimgrin, Corpse-Born. He combos very well with the Cemetery Reaper and the Grave Titan.

If you really like the discard, I would use 2 more Despise instead. Does Horrifying Revelations come in handy more often than not, or more often than Despise? I imagine by the time you're looking for your titans, neither of them help.

I basically have Horrifying Revelations and Despise in there 1) because they are cheap, and the deck needed a few low-cost cards, but 2) because forcing a little bit of discard would (hopefully) make them drop some creatures in the graveyard, which i could then exile with cemetery reaper.

I was contemplating Grimgrin, tbh. But the only problem I have had with this deck is that it can move a little slow on occasion, since there's really no ramp at all in here. Thus, adding a 5cost creature to the mix gives me a little hesitation.

I agree that there are probably better choices than Horrifying Revelations, I just like it because it's cheap and gets two cards in the GY instead of 1.
