Deck Description

Creature Destruction, Hand Destruction, Library Destruction

Main idea is to hold off first few turns with creatures and creature destruction as well as discards until i can mill your deck, ruin comboes, maiden to permanently lock you out.

Anti Small Creatures deck, goblins, elves, weenie whites.

Deck discussion for Casual Heavy Lockdown

I like the general idea a lot, just a couple of thoughts.. 6 edicts seems like quite a lot.. do you actually need that many? I'd definitely put in another Hymn, Ritual, Glimpse and Spectre. Always thought Black Knight kicked Stromgalds ass, since the mana to pump is better spent elsewhere. I'm also shocked to find that few use megrim or the rack in discard decks here.. Perhaps I'm just old fashioned, but discard decks without them rackies just doesn't rhyme with me, even if the killing concept here seems to be the milling. I'd also swap the Banshees for something cheaper, like Doomsday Specter or Blizzard Specter. Sure, that would give you a weaker creature base, but you'd be able to boomerang (with blizzard) things to make your opponent discard with spells.

cool, thanks for the fast feedback!

im still thinking, cos banshee i deliberately put in cos my friends like to use weenie decks that combo and be total asses, especially against the nasty elves and smaller white combo weenies.

i kept stromgald because i used to have cabal coffers in this deck but took it out through lack of blue mana

the edicts arent actually alot, totallying at 9 creature killing cards (flashback chainers) and then totally crippling the opponent when banshee comes down

racks are lovely but seem to lose effectiveness later, i originally had land destruction and rack comboed but since this deck doesnt have LD, hence no rack.

will definitely consider putting in morehymn ritual glimpse and spectre.

and yes the main idea is to control your first 3 or 4 turns completely with creature destruction as well as well placed duress + tourachs, and mill you to death with twincasted / miraried glimpse / traumatize. will most likely consider taking out "psychic drain"

Hmm, are you sure you're not thinking of Cursed Rack, the discarding artifact? The Rack is:

At the beginning of the chosen player's upkeep, The Rack deals X damage to that player, where X is 3 minus the number of cards in his or her hand.

Which is more effective after a few rounds. Cursed version is better for control and LD.
To me it seems you have a pretty decent anti-white defence in the knights, if your friends play white weenie a lot, perhaps just use more of them instead of the Banshee? Cause he's so expensive. Great when in play, of course, but he takes his time. There are of course a lot of anti-green cards too, but that's heavy sideboarding bordering on evil. :)

I'd think it would be very difficult for someone to get 9 creatures into play against a fast discard deck, let alone 9 ones that your creatures can't deal with on their own. But perhaps you could add one chainer and remove 2 diabolic, unless you really like the instant part of the card. You'd have the same capacity (9 removals) but be able to jam another card in there.

sorry i was thinking iron maiden combo with LD

definitely going to change 1 diabolic with chainers now.

banshee is anti alot of things liek elves whites and goblins, and black has no problem with mana especially with dark rituals in play, as well as aqueduct land

also never realli added the rack and latter was because i wanted a deck thats not TOO casual and make type 2 players feel chicken shit in versing me bahaha, even tho this deck is casual / cheap enough with turn 1 dark ritual duress, tourach

thanks for the help!

will definitely put cursed rack as sideboard, never seen that card before
