Deck Description

Well, your empire is gonna have a couple extra square kilometers in it!

This is a Budget Elder Dragon Highlander deck (BEDH). It is meant for the Elder Dragon Highlander format, a.k.a. Commander. If you are not familiar with the format, I'll link it below for you.

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

Never before I've made a deck with this many lands! Well, first time for everything, right?

Amareth really likes permanents that share a type. Going full-on lands increases the odds of pulling a land whenever you drop a land, creating a sort of a chain of card advantage, as well as really helping out with those Landfall-triggers.

Surprisingly enough, I believe this deck will mostly win by combo. Infinite combo can be achieved especially through Retreat to Coralhelm:
- Retreat to Coralhelm + Llanowar Scout / Murasa Rootgrazer / Scaled Herbalist / Skyshroud Ranger + Azorius Chancery / Guildless Commons / Selesnya Sanctuary / Simic Growth Chamber = INFINITE LANDFALL-TRIGGERS

This combo can enable you to gain infinite buffs from Baloth Woodcrasher, Canyon Jerboa and Retreat to Kazandu, as well as create infinite tokens with Emeria Angel and Retreat to Emeria. The choices are numerous!

Even if you fail to pull off a powerful combo, you may still be easily able to provide your creatures with double the Landfall-triggers each turn by using Amareth and a "tap-land-dropper" such as Scaled Herbalist. This way you can out-value your opponents and likely win, provided you can hold on for some time.

Cons:
- Quite slow, allowing opponents to readily build up their responses.
- You can get stuck with land draw for 10 turns straight more likely than most other decks.
