Deck Description

Vigilance combined with graveyard-retrieval? This is going to be interesting.

This is a Budget Elder Dragon Highlander deck (BEDH). It is meant for the Elder Dragon Highlander format, a.k.a. Commander. If you are not familiar with the format, I'll link it below for you.

I mostly use MTG Vault for my own private projects nowadays, but feel free to comment or request a deck of your choice. I've loved the Vault so far, and I like that they are still improving on it, as well as I am improving on my English language skills.

So, if you like what you see, consider checking out some of my other budget-y work from the link below.

How to Play

Tayam sure is an oddball - it combines vigilance-keyword with graveyard-based effects. This deck attempts to take advantage of this by removing both the vigilance counters and +1/+1 counters in order to grab a card or two from the 'yard!

As long as you have the mana, Tayam can provide almost unlimited card value. Lockets can be cracked to draw cards (total 7 mana and 3 counters to draw 2 cards) and can thus work in a pinch. Restoration Specialist can drag up to two utility cards from the graveyard while Skullwinder makes for interesting political plays and Choking Restraints can be used as a repeated exile. The possibilities are nearly endless!

Pros:

Cons:
- If you are locked out of casting your commander, the game becomes significantly harder.
