Deck Description

Are you bored? Does Magic: The Gathering feel old and vapid? Got any useless bucks in your bank account? Ladies and Gentlemen, I have solution.
Use your bank account on nearest MTG marketplace website and buy some cheap cards, craft a deck, and challenge your friends! To double the fun, ask your friend to create such a deck too!
The Budget Decks -series is meant for your free time! These are meant to inspire you, and the deck's cost is meant to be low!
(Between 10 and 20 bucks.)

How to Play

Are you a new player who has just got into Magic: The Gathering?
Have you thought about trying out the new mechanics of Guilds of Ravnica set? Maybe even interested in playing white and red? You wish to try buying some cheaper cards first?

If you answered "Yes!" to at least two of the questions above, then this deck just might be made for you!

This deck tries to win the game by casting multiple small and aggressive creatures, then proceed attacking with them and buffing them using the Mentor-keyword.
- Torch Courier is a fantastic card, providing you with a swift early-game.
- Boros Challenger and Sunhome Stalwart are probably the strongest mentors in this deck. They have formidable statistics in addition of their Mentor-abilities, meaning they can easily stand their own in combat.
- Precision Bolt and Righteous Blow can pierce holes in your opponent's defenses, while Cosmotronic Wave can strip your opponent completely off their protections!

No Shock?

I'm sorry, but this deck is constructed solely from Guilds of Ravnica cards.
Shock is surely a good addition though: I'll add it to the sideboard.

Oh, didn't realise that. I suggested Shock because it's a premium burn spell players are likely to come across, and easy to understand how it works, so (imo) a good card for beginners (and veterans). Also a good teaching tool for different ways to use the same card.

You are right. I am not denying it.

Love the deck.

I have to suggest Healer's Hawk x4 over Touch Courier. Healer's Hawk is the perfect mentor target for a budget deck. And I am liking Healer's hawk as an all star in many of my budget decks. Mentor, Equipment, Aura's, etc. Keep it in mind for future builds.
