How to Play

Inspired by Jessie.
This seems pretty neat to be 19 buck deck with only M15 cards!

I have to say that Darksteel Citadel - Ensoul Artifact has to be one of the best combos of M15. Turn 2 5/5 Indestructible? Yes please!

Deck discussion for Budget Decks: Jessie's M15

Nice. And the combo with Citadel and Ensoul Artifact is brutal!
20 Artifacts in the deck to use with Shrapnel Blast and Ensoul Artifact. Very nice.
And your Chief Engineer (a card that i am going to buy one copy of, at least, because I think it will be going up in price, in a few years) lowers the cost of the 20 Artifacts.

A blue trample creature, very neat.

Only card I am iffy with...but it totally works do to your Shrapnel Blast/Chief Engineer/Ensoul Artifact cards...is the Staff of the Flame Magus. The blue staff has 27 cards that work with gaining life. But the red staff only has 13 cards. So...the blue staff will be the one giving you more life. But, it totally works regardless, You can just sack the red one, if need be, to Shrapnel Blast or pump it up with Ensoul Artifact. So, it isn't a wasted card.

Another fine deck, my friend.

I very much enjoy it! Going to be buying a copy of the Ensoul Artifact. It is just like Chief Engineer. The way you used it in your deck...i think the Ensoul Artifact will be going up in price, over the next few years.

What a deck! I really like it ... especially the dark steel citadel combo. I thought, "it's a shame they didn't reprint any dark steel cards like dark steel relic here". Now that I know that dark steel citadel is back (it's a great card anyway) I am going to get a playlet come hell or high water.

Hey guys I am new to magic but have a bulk of M15 cards. Like over 1000. Since I probably have most of the cards in the deck, I want to start out by trying to use this deck.

Would it be good enough to play on friday nights? Also a lot of the card combos do not make sense to me, could someone break down the strategy to me barney style?

Thanks!

Well, if you ask me straight, I think that this deck wouldn't work too well in FNM.
All the decks there are at least worth of 200 bucks, thanks to their fancy rare lands and the newest and strongest combo cards. This deck might be good, but I'm afraid not that good.

...and yeah, about the deck's combos:

-Maybe the most evil combo is Darksteel Citadel + Ensoul Artifact. Darksteel Citadel is an indestructible land card, which is also an artifact. Ensoul Artifact can make any artifact into 5/5 artifact creature, so if you cast this on the Citadel, it becomes 5/5 artifact creature. Though it doesn't lose its original abilities, so it is 5/5 artifact creature that is also INDESTRUCTIBLE. That's just mean.

-Chief Engineer is also a great card. It basically means that you'll be able to cast your artifacts very cheap if you tap some of your untapped creatures while you cast them.

-Meteorite is also pretty cool. You can cast it to kill small creatures, use it as mana, then sacrifice it with Shrapnel Blast to deal 5 damage! That's sweet!

Also, this is my 3000th post on this site! Rejoice!

Grats on the 3000! Well. I am still very new to the game, have only played duels of the planeswalkers as of yet. So Maybe if I use this deck until Khans came out? That way I have a little idea as to how it works and then get some play time under the belt.

Just looking over things, I looked through all my cards to try to build this deck. Missing a few pieces such as Cancel, Would Negate be a respectable replacement?

Also I have a ton of Radiant Fountain cards, could/should I try to add these to the deck?

Radiant Fountain is okay card, and it could work in artifact-based decks, since they don't need that much colorful mana.
Negate can be used in order to replace Cancel, as long as you have something to deal with their creatures.
