Deck Description

Are you bored? Does Magic: The Gathering feel old and vapid? Got any useless bucks in your bank account? Ladies and Gentlemen, I have solution.
Use your bank account on nearest MtG marketplace website and buy some cheap cards, craft a deck, and challenge your friends! To double the fun, ask your friend to create such a deck too!
The Budget Decks -series is meant for your free time! These are meant to inspire you, and deck's value is meant to be low! (Between 10 and 20 bucks.)

How to Play

This deck uses the interesting ability of Suspend in order to help growing its own might. Errant Ephemeron, Deep-Sea Kraken, Pardic Dragon, Arc Blade, Wheel of Fate and Epochrasite plunge into exile in order to return later... But this time, with haste.

Shivan Sand-Mage, Clockspinning, Fury Charm, Rift Elemental and Jhoira's Timebug rock since they can remove quickly some counters from your cards.

lol this is old school for me. planar chaos and the like were shortly after i started playing. didn't care much for them. however, aeon chronicler might be a good fit for this deck. tcgplayer puts it at 45 cents, and it adds some of that draw power blue loves so much.

you seem pretty good, if you wouldn't mind taking a look at my new deck im making for FNM?

Suspend is such a fun engine. My buddy and I designed this modern deck around it, http://www.mtgvault.com/dharr16/decks/modern-worldfire/

The idea is to use Jhoira to suspend Worldfire and then next turn suspend lightning bolt, or a creature, so it goes off after Worldfire for the win.

0
Posted 16 May 2014 at 05:28

I made a 1 turn in combo deck with Worldfire once, you just play a mountain turn 1, then 4 rite of flames, then you suspend a rift bolt, then you play worldfire. You win unless they can somehow kill you with their next draw or gain 3 life (without having anything on the field or anything on hand during their turn).
It requires 7 specific cards, but eh xD

The Time Bug will never live long enough to actually do something. It is one of only 8 creatures in the deck and as an artifact creature with toughness 1, almost everything can kill it. In that place I would run Greater Gargadon.

And then, especially with the Gargadon in mind, I'd seriously consider to run Jokulhaups! Think about it, if you cast that while some cards are still suspended, then that should be game in 95% of all cases.

I guess you don't get the purpose of the bug. It is an early game creature. It also helps you removing the counters from the suspended cards. You also said that it will die quickly after it comes into play. That might be true. But even then, I think that it is an advantage. It is good thing if your opponent wastes his/her removal to your early gamers, so your late gamers can keep living longer.

So, I guess the bug is gonna stay.

Oh, I just misread - it's 8 ARTIFACT creatures, I somehow thought there were only 8 creatures in total. Sorry for that, I shouldn't post before I had my coffee fix :P

What's your meter? The rhythm feels a bit off on the second and third lines. I dislike two 9s next to each other. Oh, I'll stop being muckraker ;-) I like that and may use it in the future. I'm just giving you crap for no reason :-P I prefer coffee in the evening. It helps me stay up late and study 'til 2 AM where I sleep then awake early for Jazz practice (some days). I personally think the timebug is cute; it's even tiny enough that I probably wouldn't notice it if I drank it in my tea. Did I say tea? Yes, I drink that in the evenings so I may stay up late and study, and coffee in the morning. I also quite like riftwing cloudskate and more Sandy Mages and more Krakens. I don't like coffee. It seems to have to bitter of a taste. Krakens remind me of Wrexial, who reminds me of the movie "Clash of the Titans" which reminds me of Titan's Strength, which makes me want to do a draft tonight, but I need more cash. I don't drink coffee in the morning. Timebug is a great addition to this deck. I prefer green tea to black; specifically, I prefer jasmine-green infusion or Sencha to everything. Timebug acts as a pseudo-ramp for suspend cards. You really think I'm a tea snob now. When it removes time counters, it's allowing you to cast your spells sooner, which is basically the same purpose as ramp. I don't know your problem, WhiteKnight, but coffee is delicious, just not espresso. Don't listen to me unless you have eyes. You don't need them to hear, only read.

If you think my speech is weird, it's not. Even ask my speech coach. Of course I can't tell you who he is, but he looks very similar to the drummer in this music video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZsqliu-JGM&index=1&list=RDSZsqliu-JGM

This artist.... I don't know what to think of it, but I'm sort of thinking that I may like it.
Of course my speech coach thinks I have a weird way in presenting my ideas.
It's not weird; even ask the dead David Foster Wallace.
Timebug is an awesome addition to this deck and I probably wouldn't have even thought to include it.
Try to stay away from coffee if you want to.

My guess is an "attention seeker", and one who does so by mocking/dissing you

I meant no disrespect, and I apologize to whoever feels disrespected by what I wrote. I see you don't appreciate fragmented thought process. David Foster Wallace is an awesome writer. (What is the definition of "yaw"?). I just finished reading "The Pale King" and it was an awesome book. He hanged himself when he was in his mid 40s. My speech coach told me that I'll become the next David Foster Wallace, so he suggested David's books to me so that I'd know what he meant. I think I know what he meant by that and hope that he didn't mean that I should hang myself.

Now, "attention seeker" might be a separate story ;-)
+1 for helping me realize that trying to be creative after taking 2 exams has it's consequences.

BTW, it's a song. The meter is fine ... but only when it's sung, because several syllables are stretched out. It's kinda hard to write without a musical staff.

I.E., it's not in meter 'cause it's not a poem.

And you didn't offend me at all with any of your comments. I like your speaking style because it reminds me of Sherman Alexie and magical realism authors. It's a good approach to subliminally implant messages in a reader (in a good way). Not to get too technical, but the constant variation prevents the mind from wandering, resulting in a high retention rate. It is also a good exercise for writing more freely.

Oh, and all humans need attention. We are social beings. The ones we label (and I hate labeling people beyond what is statistically necessary) as "attention-getters" merely go about gathering responses in an unconventional way.

2
Posted 17 May 2014 at 00:47

Ahhhhhhhh :) That makes sense now. And it was fine even when not sung, I just really messed up the first time I was trying to read it and thought that funny, since I definitely never mess up when I read things aloud for the first time :-P

I apologize for my friends - they are highly engrained in the traditions of Western logical reasoning and thought, and meant no disrespect. They are uncomfortable with nonlinear methods of writing.

I feel like this has all been some kind of a conspiracy, I've read all the comments and now feel myself really wanting to go buy a new Ford truck. Nope, never mind. It definitely wasn't the comments... It was the country music playing in the background. I also suddenly feel an overwhelming need to go stick my arm in a hole somewhere in a river and hope like hell it's a catfish that bites my hand. That second part might just be because I'm an Oklahoman and that's what we do out of our own stupidity. Anyways, enough about the killer robots from a planet that resembles Jurassic Park, I'm gonna make a pot of coffee.

A while ago there were issues with people going on mass downvoting sprees and the effects are still felt by some (I was lowered to -210 reputation at one point). As for the deleting of comments, that is either because it is A) your comment, B) your deck or C) a glitch in the system
