Deck Description

Welcome to the NorthernWarlord's Budget Decks -series!

These decks are meant to inspire you and your playgroup to create simple, cheap decks and challenge each other! Can you and your friends find out who can dominate the battlefield by spending as little as possible on your cards?

The EDH Budget Decks are a bit different from regular decks. These bad boys have a total of 100 cards in them and are meant for the Elder Dragon Highlander (EDH) format, which is also known as the Commander format. These decks also have a bit higher budget than the regular Budget Decks: their average deck value should be somewhere between 30 and 50 dollars, including the deck's commander.

How to Play

I remembered my very first EDH-deck I made here on MTG-Vault. I remember it being a Borborygmos EDH-deck, which was still made when I didn't know a damn about the format and not much about MTG itself. Even still, it caused me to gain interest in MTG as a whole, especially Elder Dragon Highlander -format.

This deck attempts to capture "the essence of EDH". You are supposed to be "the chad" of your game, dominating opponents using big, hasty beatsticks and nasty double-strike enablers.

This deck's features:

- Fearsome surprise attacks! This deck has a LOT of cards that grant Haste. Fires of Yavimaya, In the Web of War and Rhythm of the Wild are mere examples. In addition to that, the Rhythm and several other cards allow your creatures to be uncounterable, meaning you can beat down control-based foes fearlessly.

- Big bullies! Borborygmos is a huge threat by himself, but many others, such as Avatar of Slaughter offer you a deadly arsenal of damage. On the other hand, cards such as Loyal Guardian and Warmonger Hellkite can be used to make each of your creatures a formidable threat.

- Don't let them take your commander down! Don't let them disencourage you: this deck is quite content with the fact that your commander might be removed a couple of times. While Myth Unbound, Fury Storm, Genesis Storm and Skyfire Phoenix reward you from casting Borborygmos again and again, Road of Return and several Haste cards make sure that you get all the value out of your commander even if he gets beated down repeatedly.
