How to Play

Another C-C-C-Combo!

Personal Sanctuary + Manabarbs and/or Sulfuric Vortex

-With Manabarbs, just cast things on your own turn while Personal Sanctuary is on the field. That way the opponent is the only one taking damage.

-Just wait with Sulfuric Vortex. Once it hits with Personal Sanctuary, you basically set a time bomb.

-Enlightened Tutor to get enchantments, and the mana rocks are there to ramp up a bit.

Deck discussion for How to be a sadist

* Why Slagstorm if you could run Earthquake instead!? I mean, in this deck you don't benefit much from the options of Slagstorm. Okay, it doesn't hit flyers, on the other hand it can kill off creatures bigger than 3.

* And to be truly sadistic you might as well complete the combo and add Citadel of Pain/ Power Surge :)

* Glacial Chasm is the perfect backup for Personal Sanctuary.

* Despite the Vortex I would run Lightning Helix in this instead of regular Lightning Bolts.

Thanks!

Yeah, I think i'm going to switch the Slagstorm with Earthquake now.

Power Surge seems better, but the strain on the mana-base is what's holding me back from adding this... Citadel of Pain might be good, but I'll see how well Power Surge plays.

I considered Glacial Chasm, but I don't like the cumulative upkeep that much. Although it makes for a good alternative, I feel like the costs are much more than the rewards.

I also considered Lightning Helix, but the fact that Sulfuric Vortex has the "no life-gain" effect scared me away from it. I guess since there's alternatives to this (Power Surge, Citadel of Pain) I guess I can put it back in if im behind in the life game and it's needed. however, Bolt costs 1-less mana, and that can make a difference. I'll see how this works out and which one I like better.
