Hymn to Tourach is good.

I actually have a dual-megrim deck of my own. I also have a playset of Death Cloud in one of my other decks, and I always thought megrim+death cloud would be a great combo - add insult to injury. I haven't deconstructed my other deck, nor have I proxied it yet... but I should really get on that. Anyways, it's an idea if you want, though my decks are far less creature heavy than yours are, and Death Cloud would simply be wrathing your own creatures...

Look at me ramble!

Huh, I either didn't read it very well or you've updated it since I started commenting. Either way, I like it. Keep it up!

Aah, a devour deck! This type of deck was actually the first deck I ever built. =D

You could try to run a few Awakening Zone to get some stuff for devour - plus they're good for sacking the tokens for mana. Also another devour creature that you might consider is Thunder-Thrasher elder. Devour 3 is pretty nice - just eat 2 creatures and he's at 7!

One thing I found that's incredibly fun and very worthwhile is run a few creature steals, like Act of Treason or even Conquering Manticore, steal their strongest monster, attack them with it (they won't kill it, because they just get it back at the end of their turn, maybe they'd chump block) - but then at your second main phase you summon a creature with devour and BAM. You get rid of one of their creature AND you get the devour kicker without losing one of your own. This is more of a later game spell (as it requires the cost for the steal spell and the summon), but totally worth it if they have huge fatties.

Finally, I'd suggest getting some red or green creatures that spawn more creatures once they leave the battlefield. Mitotic Slime is perhaps one of the best, though even things like Dripping-Tongue Zubera can spawn extra creatures to NOM.

Yeah, fair enough. I'd suggest ember hauler as well, though if you have such low cost spells all the time, you probably won't typically have 1 extra mana to use his sac cost. Or have you considered running Quest for the Goblin Lord?

No [Llanawar Elf] ? Or, better yet, [Arbor Elf], as if you have enchanted forests with your [Overgrowth] or [Wild Growth], that's a bunch of extra mana. For perhaps other mana ramp, you could look into [Joraga Treespeaker]. They're pretty cheap for mana ramp, and they're elves so they work with your other elf boots. [Copperhorn Scout] is also pretty cheap, and it untaps the rest of your attacking creatures, which means you also have blockers. Those three are pretty cheap elf spells.

As far as Enchantments go, you might look into [Bear Umbra]. It's a totem armor, and it also untaps all your lands (more elf casting power!)

I know it's not an elf, but many people play [Aura Gnarlid].

Elf decks are fun. Good luck =D

Actually, I've run a Sadistic Sacrament in there, with the mana boosts late game from Cabal Coffers / Lens, I can pay the kicker and exile 15 land cards, dropping Death Cloud to wrath most of what they have (creatures, land, and hand) - and with 15 fewer lands in their deck, they're going to be hard pressed for mana.

Hey, thanks for the card advice. The way I was running this deck was trying to start quickly (drop a bauble and lens) and use some of the Drain Life to kill off some attacking creatures / regain some of my life from not having any defenders, then dropping Death Cloud to wrath the field, using Debtor's Knell to revive Kokusho (2 legendary = magnificent explosion) which I discarded from Death Cloud. The problem that I had was that I often got mana flooded, or I got aggroed/poisoned to death because I simply couldn't cast enough kill spells quickly enough (as drain life are expensive to use as creature kill).

I'll certainly look into those cards that you mentioned, especially Dark Ritual and Blood Pet. I'd still like my focus to be on dropping Death Cloud, but the more life I can get and the faster I can ramp my mana, that would help quite a bit - plus I could take out some of the swamps and replace them with a few more fun cards. Thanks!
