Deck Description

A fast B/G deck with an emphasis on quickly and easily boosting cheap and efficient creatures to throw at opponent(s). Any creatures who may fall in this endeavor serve to further empower another creature.

How to Play

Dreg Mangler, Slitherhead, Thrill-Kill Assassin, and Vampire Nighthawk should attack as often as possible. If any of them die, they only add power to another creature, such as Jarad or Scavenging to Lotleth Troll. Jarad should also use his ability to sacrifice Slitherheads and Dreg Manglers when they can no longer attack without being blocked. Discard when necessary with Lotleth Troll, most of your scavenges should go to him. Within a few turns their +1/+1 counters can bloat fairly quickly.

Rancor is invaluable for this deck. It should be attached to Vraska's Assassins when possible. If those aren't available, Slitherhead/Dreg Mangler work incredibly as well. Late-game, Jarad should have a Rancor attached to him.

Vraska's final loyalty ability is pretty amazing, especially when her assassins are used in combination with an attached Rancor or Korozda Guildmage's first ability. However, you shouldn't hold them back simply for their abilities. Three extra 1/1 creatures with death touch are pretty valuable; they can be used for removal when needed. Her second ability is often overlooked in lieu of her final. Her ability to remove cards from the field is much needed and works well in conjunction with Vampire Nighthawk and Thrill-Kill Assassin's deathtouch. Don't be afraid to use her loyalty counters if there's a threat on the field, remove it before it becomes a problem.

As for the sideboard, Korozda Guildmage is very good when her first ability is usable, add her in where you see fit. I often replace Gyre Sage for her. Alpha Authority works fairly well against a number of decks, ensuring MVP creatures are kept safe. Golgari Charm has a number of useful utilities, ridding x/1 creatures, detrimental enchantments, or saving your field. Some of the guys I play against run extort and Boros Legion decks, which Golgari Charm is beautiful for. Naturalize is just good, mmkay. Treasured Find is a decent card to swap out for, as is Gyre Sage as I said earlier.

Deck discussion for Vraska & Company

I like the deck, but have you thought of using Splinterfright?

I had seen it and it'd definitely be a good addition to the deck, but I was trying to shoot for Standard legal after Innistrad block cycles out. 'till then, it would be a pretty nice fit.

Finally a deck utilizing Vraska. Vraska and Chandra, the Firebrand get too little love. Nice deck, definitely liked it.

Debating removing Alpha Authority for Rancor. While one gives me a bit of safety during the late-game, Rancor could potentially win the game via Vraska's Assassins. Not to mention Rancor returns to my hand.

Not a Fan of wights here, or gyre sages for this deck. Can't remember the 4/4 golgari 4 drop creature that doubles the tokens you put on creatures. I feel like he'd have a nice home here. Maybe some jarads orders too.

I run another B/G deck that includes Corpsejack Menace. He's an amazing card I'll admit, but I don't think he has the best synergy with this deck. Most of your creatures, you don't really want to keep around; they're there to throw themselves at an opponent, so the massive amount of +1/+1 counters would be a bit wasted on them.

Wight of Precinct Six is there to make up for the lack of Lumberknot, which I found invaluable in my other B/G deck, especially with Corpsejack Menace. The problem I found with him was that he was just too slow and this deck is about speed, seeming reckless with creatures with deathtouch.

Looking back on it, Gyre Sage may not be the best choice since there aren't enough creatures to give massive benefit to it's Evolve ability.

+4 Vampire Nighthawk

Moved Alpha Authority to the sideboard for Rancor in the main deck. Changed the sideboard a bit, Naturalize is real useful, mmkay.

Input would be appreciated.
