Circa 1995 - revised/fallen empires/ice age deck. Basic pestilence + black ward scheme enables pestilence to do damage to everyone else but your own creatures and yourself. As long as you have creatures, pestilence sticks around. Copper Tablets add to the downward pressure of life total. very easily done in by red players, but that's what the deathlaces and reverse damages are for.
Put out a knight or the Wisp, and then bring out pestilence. Use pestilence freely and often, but be sure to keep your creatures alive at the end of the turn. Sounds simple in theory, but hard to do in practice. A deathlace can be used to either prevent damage to a target, or to yourself (with COP:Black).
