Banshee is a conflicted creature, made usable with white's COP and lifelink abilities. Back when spirit link could stack, you could have 2 or 3 lifelinks on the Banshee to do X/2 damage to opponent but give X*3 life to yourself. In the original, I might have had all of Urza's lands, in order to greatly increase the amount of damage-per-turn I could do.
Classic white-defense deck with an added twist: The Banshee does direct damage to target and self, but once he is lifelinked, it's life giving. Moat and Island Sanctuary combined with Scarecrow and various white/black "fog" cards to slow down opponent's creature attack. Meanwhile, several cards are used to prevent the poor Banshee from coming to harm. In the worst case, Copper Tablets ensure someone will die *eventually*, but with all our life-giving stuff, it won't be us.
