Deck Description

My attempt at a modern tournament quality deck. Play testing has proven there is some real merit to the concept but I feel it needs overall work before I make the final purchases I need. I've never developed a modern sideboard before so I don't know what I would really put in there.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Main Ideas:
Quick creatures to deal fast damage

Fetchlands fuel landfall

Fetchlands, vexing devils, and instants fuel the lavamancers once in the graveyard for direct damage

I'm also cautious about hero of oxid ridge in this deck. May be too much mana but I figure its kind of the last turn finisher. I was also considering hellrider in its place but the battlecry, haste with a bit of overall evasion for all my creautes seemed far more useful.

Thanks guys =)

Deck discussion for Moden Boros (Help Wanted)

yes, the helix is able to return the chandra's phoenix to play because it is a red spell, it is also a white spell and is affected by spells and abilities that affect either. anyways a beautiful deck, it looks terrific.

hey bud, yes Lightning helix does count. I may recommend taking out silence or either more burn like shock or something to help keep the punishment going. the deck looks really good though. keep it up!

other than shock, i would use burst lightning, much better.

ok, looks to me like its full out aggro, which raises the question, why silence and path to exile? they seem unnecessary, you could put in 2 hero of bladeholds and maybe a couple bonfire of the damneds to clear up an opponent's feild once you hit a wall, Hellrider may also be something to look at for your deck, seeing as its so aggroy and Figure of Destiny is by far one of my favorite R/W cards in the game, 1 drop that can turn 8/8 flyer, yes please, he's great late game (incase you get there), and not bad early game cause you can put mana into him when you want

also you may want to look at thatcher's revolt, to combo with the battlecry, or even white sun's zenith

btw yes i'm bringing the curve up a bit with my suggestions, but if you end up having a late game, you need something to cover you other than an army of 1 drops

but overall looks really fun to build

also, if you wanted a bigger hitter as a 5 drop, look at balefire liege, and laugh evily, witht he number of 1 drops you have, you could easily kill a person guaranteed turn 6

I would agree. I think figure is a necessity for this deck. Mr. Destiny is insane.

See I love silence simply because it is a one drop that essentially gives me one more turn where they have the same amount of possible blockers out. And Path to Exile is simply possible blocker removal. I love the idea of figure of destiny but im uncertain about removing either of the two white instants

So I've decided to put silence and path to exile in the sideboard for use against creature decks as creature removal and as delay for them to bring out more blockers. I'll put in 4 figure of destinys because they are a for sure 1st turn creature I can bring out and has boost potential. I figure I'll put in 4 more burn spells. I'm thinking either burst lightning, as it is essentially an upgraded version of shock, or forked bolt which has the potential to get two blockers out of my way. Of course the issue with forked bolt is that it is at sorcery speed but I figure that won't be too much of a problem since I do most of my stuff during my turn anyway.

arc trail may be better than forked bolt

Honestly I just like the one mana aspect of forked bolt too much to give it up for the two mana version of the card.

you might only want to run n18 or 19 lands because this deck has a very low mana curve ( dont get me wrong, thats good for decks like this, also, u should definetly run flagstones of trokair instead of your plains
